At the time of writng (June 2006) the owners have only been there a couple of weeks, so previous reviews (if they are still listed) can be ignored. The family that run it now were very welcoming. More than you could hope really. The beer was good. The food was straight forward and excellent (and cheap!). But most of all, their attitude was so friendly, and that really makes a pub special. They even put on a special breakfast for us on Sunday. By the way, it's a 10 minute walk from the Travelodge on the M5.

Unpretentious (i.e. a bit shabby) village boozer. Good pool table. Landlord is an ex-pro footballer and so would most of the regulars like to think they were. Usual beers (Whitbread, Worthington, Guinness, lagers), plus a real ale and a traditional (i.e. still, cloudy and deceptively drinkable) cider.
