Howl at the Moon, Hackneyback to pub details please note - reviews on this site are purely the opinion of site visitors, so don't take them too seriously.
I arrived here at 10pm on a Tuesday evening with a couple of work colleagues after eating locally.
13 keg taps with ciders, lagers and ales and 6 cask hand pumps that were offering 2 ales & 3 ciders and Perrier's. My pint of New River Breweries Riverbed Red @ 4.2% was decent and very drinkable.
Obviously this pub was an old fashioned corner plot pub in the market but it’s now a trendy hipsters local with stripped wooden flooring, old wooden tables, mis-matched chairs and extremely loud music…too blinking loud to be honest!
The décor is mainly made up of beer related posters and signs and there’s also wooden ale barrels hanging from the ceiling, preciously balanced!
I was unsure what to expect from this pub other than a decent choice of ale and have come away feeling a little bit empty, unsure why I feel like this as the staff was friendly enough the ale choice was good plus the décor is quirky…but I’m not satisfied. Oh well !

A pub in Hoxton Street that probably once had a respectable name but hey, it's Hoxton. So the interior is cosy and comfortable and mixed clientel, good beer selection and music playing on jukebox. My only issue is somewhat lazily bought into the Americana thing by having a wide selection of hoppy craft beers and flogging expensive hamburgers. They did have a best bitter (Dark Star's 'Partridge') priced at £3.50 and pleasingly served in a proper mug so can't complain too much. I'll probably return.

Slightly more rough and ready version of the North London corner pub to those slightly west of here, and with a pretty good cask/craft keg collection, but the Magic Rock was unpleasantly warm and expensive (half pint premium). Also hard to get to the bar with no space between bar stool drinkers and a table placed a few feet behind.

Great feel to this comfortable corner location pub. Great selection of cask ales, offering a range of small and local breweries. Bare, rough wooden tables with fat candles plonked on top. Good music not too loud. And an interesting "Challenge" - drink a pint of each of the draught beers and ciders (17 in all) and eat a burger for £50 within one day and you'll get your name on the wall. I don't think it's something anyone will want to do, but it's a good talking point.
I'll be quite happy to come back here. And I'd like this to be local to me - I'd pop in now and again for sure!

This is a wonderful pub under it's present owners , the beer range is interesting and a recent festival sold out on it's 2nd day out of 3.It has just been placed in the 2013 CAMRA Good Beer Guide due to be published in four weeks time . Try to visit if you are in the area .
