In response to "mikey2010":
As much as we all like it loud, there still has to be limits.
If hotels 1/4 of a mile down the road can hear it, then it's too loud.
If people leave beacause its actually hurting their ears, then its too loud (or the band suck and dont get re-booked).
I've been doing this job for a long time and know whats a good volume, whats excessive and what will get us shut down for noise pollution.
Everyone enjoys our band nights and we very rarely get vaild complaints.
Regards,
Barry Whettingsteel

Went to where "when the sun goes down, the volume goes up" last night to watch a band, however shortly into thier set, the barman started complaining to them that it was too loud. The band ammicably turned down on two or three seperate occasions, as requested, and even played a few more for a group of peope who had just arrived, but the barman still insisted they were too loud. The band, although clearly aggitated, said fair enough, pay us half our agreed fee and we'll leave, but they were told they wouldn't be paid! The landlord was called and he wouldn't even cover the fuel costs for the band getting there! It was an unjust episode to witness and I would strongly discourage any band to play there without an upfront fee. Also kinda puts a dampener on a night out when the band get sent home for playing music!

Great place. Music can be a bit loud in the day but at least they've stopped playing that Joss Stone album.

Now known as The Lazy Lizard but nothing else has changed - still probably the best option in Weymouth for a late night drink.

i suggest that everyone who enjoys a different knid of clubbinh experience to visit the tickled hippy. upstairs in the club they play the best funk and hip hop choons around, big up the DJ!! downstairs is a bery chilled beach bar also pumping out great hed kandi choons. something for everyone here. and the best thing of all, you dont have to pay an entrance fee, ever! not even on new years eve! sundays are also great at the hippy with live acoustic sets from the best local musicians. the staff are the most friendly ive met anywhere if not a little crazy at times! visit the tickled hippy and do not be disappointed.

A new bar in weymouth. It's a cross between a wine bar and a beachy hang out. Very funky!
