A bit faux hipster as opposed to pub but a decent enough place serving well kept ales. Had a pint of Hillfoot a darker looking bitter from Sheffield that was probably the best pint of the day and a sub £4 pint which is good value considering how many places are knocking you over a fiver for any pint. Though someone did come in after me and had a pint of some trendy sour keg brew that set him back £6.60 - we all have our own tastes and have to pay for them.

Small busy pub in what appears to be the middle of nowhere. It was full of young professionals. A great contrast to the depressed looking Old School Yard, a locals pub, further down Long Lane.

Good range of mainly mcrobrewery beers. There seems to be a tie-up with the One Mile End Brewery - I had their Great Tom Mild, which was excellent.

The only food available was sharing plates and a ploughman's lunch. A bit expensive for what you got. However it is good to find a modern pub which does not rely on food to turn a profit.

Unfortunately arrived here on a really hot day and after a few ales. The beers tried and warm, a Hackney and Adnams were tired tasting, a victim of the hot weather? Staff quick and chatty, maybe just a bad day.

Made the fairly long walk from London Bridge to this small, but cosy pub in Bermondsey. It only has a few tables, but has a fairly bohemian feel. Food was still being served (it must have been around 9pm). Ales were Five Points Railway Porter, Southwark Bermondsey Best, Hackney H and Adnams Lighthouse. Service was good. I wasn't aware (until I read the previous review) that this was a sister pub to the Queen's Head. Unlike the Queen's Head, this one does not currently stock a real cider. Although there are cider pumpclips that suggest it may have done in the past. So it's inferior in my opinion. Nevertheless, still a nice little pub.

A two pub crawl of SE1 beginning with the STT and then the Royal Oak, Tabard St.
STT is the sister pub of the Queen’s Head off Gray’s Inn Rd and had a similar feel. Central bar, in a sort of t-shaped room. Got there at 5.20 on Thursday and had the pick of all bar two tables, which were adorned with a candle and the food and bottled beer menus. Rather like the Queen’s Head it just lacked pub atmosphere and I suppose this must be the intention, less like a traditional boozer. The beer was ok, there were three clips and one was turned round so the only two beers on were Adnam’s Lighthouse and Windsor & Eton Windsor knot. Plumped for the W&E which was ok but nothing remarkable, the other clip came on and it was an Amber Ale which looked and tasted almost the same as the W&E. Because of the lack of options we moved on. Can’t see us returning, nothing inherently wrong with it, and the service was quick, efficient and friendly, it’s just not my type of pub. 6.5/10

My last pub of the night after a very long day and lots of beer.

I have read and heard mixed reviews on this pub but my opinion is based purely on my visit and it's all good.

The pub was busy but I managed to find a place to stand near the bar and "watch the world go by"...the pub lighting makes the place feel pretty dark, the clientele were mainly 30 something's and most seemed like trendy locals.

Food had stopped being served by the time I arrived.

My recollection of the full beer selection is hazy but my pint of Otley's Oxymoron @ 5.5% was very good.

There's an abundance of traditional pubs converted and upgraded to trendy pubs in this area but this is a worthy addition and therefore worth the walk from London Bridge station to find this place.

Avoid quiz night, the host announces he's going outside for a tab, cue everyone to shamelessly get their smart phones out! Would never eat there either, saw bar staff playing with punters dogs, then serve food without washing hands!

I have to admit that I was hesitant about going here, thinking it might be on the yuppie side, but this was totally unfounded. What an amazing selection of beers! They even had a black cask lager! The guy behind the bar was very friendly, and above all, he was extremely knowledgeable about the beers on offer. I have no idea why this place has three separate entries on BITE. Well worth a visit if you're in the area.

Often use StT when in London due to its close proximity of my lodgings. I have found it to be highly variable; the best visit was when I arrived one lunchtime when it was opening and when I ordered a pint of lime and soda, it was given to me free of charge- which cemented my choice of whether to eat there or not. The chili was excellent. Evenings can be busy and I've often felt unwelcome. The hired staff are rarely anything less than fine, it must be said......

The drinks can be a bit high on the ABV side sometimes and I've sometimes been served cask ale in green condition. I have had some cask ale in cracking condition too.

I'll certainly continue my occasional visits.

A friendly ,welcoming and relaxing pub with a passable but unexciting range of cask ales - mainly Adnams and what appeared to be a guest. The bottled range was more interesting (and expensive) and included Kernel and St Peters. The cask beer I tried was served in excellent condition, and in a dimple-glass mug by default - nice touch I thought. I'm amazed that to-date this pub is rated as 9/10 - it's pretty good, but I'll give it 7.

Welcome reincarnation of a local that has long suffered from keg and closures. Imaginative beer range, welcoming, relaxed atmosphere. A great companion to the Marigold round the corner.

A great pub. Fantastic range of Ales and Ciders on pump. Well worth a visit, plus the Landlady is a gem!
