Felt about 20 years too old for this place last night as the clientele seemed to be mainly students. The sausage and mash was good value and the Purity Mad Goose was nice albeit a bit expensive at £3.40. Definitely more of a bar feel than a pub. Not bad but just not my cup of tea.

Juggling Jon saw poo in the wall (see previous review)? Did the builders run short on polyfilla? I missed that one but there are several humourous framed icons of popular culture adjourning the walls where a massive photoshoped banger has subtly been added. My favourite is the last supper canvas on the ceiling beam to your left at the bar although in Bob Marley's case surely as a rastafarian this is just disrespectful now that he's puffing some herb(ed lincolnshire product). After all he was a sage master.
On both occassions i've been in here they've had Old Hooky as a regular ale often with another Hook Norton or Wye Valley beerpump as well. Very distinct aromas emanating from the floor similar to the flatulence of stampeding cattle last time i went in late doors mind, just thought y'all should know

Closed down for renovations - peeked through the window, looks very snazzy.
Not my kind of place then!!
This used to be a fabulous place, it was THE place to go. Not so much recently though - lets hope the refurb gets it back on top again.

now open as the sausage. Nice decor, no draught real ale but bottled is available. menu very stadnard, no exciting sausages. Bar maid was surly and drinks not cheap

Top pub.... good food... pity about the poo in the wall

This place is great. The sausages are just incredible. I recommend the Malibu Thai Sausage if they still do it. Great Veggie sausage selection. nice wines. Love the music, decor and atmosphere. The staff are really friendly. Upstairs has a really nice amsterdam feel. When I went with a big group from uni we ended up upstairs listening to great music whilst bizarre ult movies were playing on a projector. I really really like this place. Go and experience!

where has that sexy jamie oliver look-a-like gone! me and the girls go home from uni, come back next term and he's gone!anybody know?? good place to chill on week days not sure about weekends!!

A pub with character that you feel comfortable sitting in for longer than 10 minutes!! The other bars in town seem to act or the the fast turn over approach- as in drink your drink and get out to make room for the next customer. Sausage is different- cosy, warm, candles etc. Best for dates in the week/ evenings! You can actually relax with your date!

i dont know if its just me, but this place has really gone down hill! staff are always chatting to themselfs and takes a while to get served! i use to like this place, needs to be more professional rather than a social club for staff.

I haven't been here for years. But I remember the last time I went that they sold miniture vibrators in the girls toilets for a 5 or similar. Bizzare! but unique and definately worth a visit.

Nice enough place if a little ponsy, drinks a bit on the pricey side. No ales to note, just regular beers. Interesting menu - if you like sausages. Beer garden at the back is quite nice.

A nice chilled out little place on the edge of town, a bit pricey but its worth payin extra for, big TV screens are cool for the footy

the sausage, a great first pub to go to to meet friends or if entering Leam from the eastside. good-sized plasma screen showing most sky and terrestrial matches. extensive sausage menu, also pizza's & lite-bites (pannini's etc) served til mid evening mon-thurs. generally good music played, friendly and attractive staff, can get rather busy of a fri/sat evening. dj's once or twice a week with upstairs bar used for function room. spirits are pretty pricy but they serve stella and hooky which is a bonus. small garden which is handy for the summer.... i like it, one of the top 3 boozers in town..... go get yourself a stella

Good but abit cramped on Fri/Sat nights and the drinks are overpriced but hey I don't care as the tall, posh looking blonde barmaid is gorgeous (and I normally prefer brunettes !).
|
Drinks Pricey but The girls are always great looking behind the bar. Good Footy screen and comfy Sofas. More of a get together pub then a last place to be pub.

A pub stuck between old and new. Good selection of beers though, some a little pricey. Nice sofas though to relax on. And the DJ in the beer garden has his decks on the roof. Weird!

Small. Can get busy. A very interesting upstairs level (small). Serves a lot of vodka (great surprise that). Go and see it yourself and you can be the judge!
