Ship, Lerrynback to pub details please note - reviews on this site are purely the opinion of site visitors, so don't take them too seriously.
We sat outside in the beer garden which just has a view of the back of the pub but others seemed to have taken their glasses down to the picnic tables by the river which I assume have some connection to the pub. If you do that, then you've got a fantastic view, otherwise the pub isn't anything special. Sharp's Cornish Coaster & Atlantic, Doom Bar and Exeter's Avocet Ale were the 4 handpulls last Saturday. My pint of Coaster was rather good.

Lerryn is a lovely village on the River Fowey. There are stepping stones to cross the river. The village local is the Ship, which seems to be popular with diners. The interior is no frills. But the landlord and landlady were friendly. Doom Bar & Cornish Coaster made up the predictable ale choice. Worth visiting for the location.

I agree with the comment below about being a tardis. Ceratainly on the outside it looks like a small village pub, but once inside its a pretty big space with a single bar and various nooks and crannies off it including a large(ish) conservatory.
Three beers available at time of visit including Doombar and Cornish Crown, (a small independent brewer based in Penzance).
Pleasant locals and dog friendly. Its in a most beautiful spot and worth a detour just to see it.

Visited Oct 2011 - picturesque location by the river and a proper traditional pub. Very welcoming, good food and beers - a bit off the beaten track but definitely worth a visit.

Historically an excellent traditional pub, with a classic public bar area and more dogs than people on our recent visit !
Previous comments are generally on the ball, though our ploughmans' lunches were a little sparse, took ages to be served (not busy) and were served with three small discs of French stick, which were very dry, hard and stale. Why ?
My partner got the pip when she noticed on (nearly) finishing her half-pint, that there was a lemon pip in the bottom of the glass ! Why ?
Disapointment from one of my favourite pubs that we travelled some distance to get to.

Everything a village pub should be right down to the dogs! Good range of ales though sadly a couple of them were unavailable when we were there but the Betty Stogs made up it. Had one of the best pub burgers ever and the place is run by some really lovely people. Another triumph for for the satnav as we would never have known this place even existed otherwise.

Free House in this tiny village, where we stayed for a week. Small frontage, but like a TARDIS....Good range of hand pulled ales, all at just below prices you get in more popular coastal locations. Food very good value...good size portions and well presented by efficient, friendly staff. We went every day for eats as the menu changed daily, based on what could be sourced locally. Decor somewhat tired, but made up for it by lively atmosphere and an ongoing effort by landlord to add a bit of pazzazz......Beer festival and live music on Friday while we were there. Well worth a trip off the beaten track
