Oliver Conquest, Whitechapelback to pub details please note - reviews on this site are purely the opinion of site visitors, so don't take them too seriously.
A friendly pub with excellent service and a wonderful choice of beverages. It's just outside the City, and en route to the equally wonderful Wilton's Music Hall. Matt and his people offer a really warm welcome. I'm not a gin drinker myself - I prefer the darker spirits - but it's gin heaven for those who like that sort of thing. A huge range of gins from all over.

All good. This has to be the new home from home for me. Great beer, great food and a very nice and warm welcoming from all the staff. This is beyond doubt the best pub in the area.

Not been to this pub in ages and very pleasantly surprised by it. A well kept Timothy Taylor's Landlord on tap and probably the best selection of gins for miles around.
Friendly staff and a pleasant laid back atmosphere. A pub that stands out from the local completion - well worth a visit.

I went to The Oliver Conquest for a friend's birthday last Friday night. There was a big group of us and everyone said how much they enjoyed the pub. The staff was really friendly, making recommendations for the HUGE gin selection. They really got the weekend off to a fantastic start. Can't recommend enough, especially for gin lovers! Thank you!

After years of waiting, we finally have a pub really worth visiting in Aldgate. As someone else commented, the Oliver Prospect has a nice relaxed, easy-going atmosphere with staff who (and here's an unusual thing!) seem genuinely pleased to see you.
I understand that in the past under previous management, this place had been one to avoid, but the new licencees have given it a really fresh makeover and the nice mix of locals and city folk rub along well together. Most of us drunk the very good Timmy Taylor and the landlady's homemade bar food, particularly the range of scotch eggs, really hit the mark when we wanted good ale, good atmosphere and finger food rather than a meal from the main menu!

Visited here as the 1st pub on a Friday night crawl. Have been past on many occasions but this was my first visit. A really nice pub, nice atmosphere, 2 ales on draught of which me and my mate had the Tim Taylor Landlord which was perfect. Very friendly landlady and female bar person, all in all a very nice pub and definitely not one to walk past. My next visit will be very soon.

Friendly staff. Pride and Wherry on hand pump. Tried the Wherry and it proved superb. Muzak at a reasonable volume. Didn't try the food but looked good. Recommended.
