Hinds Head, Stockportback to pub details please note - reviews on this site are purely the opinion of site visitors, so don't take them too seriously.
I don't go in here often nowadays, although it used to be a good, friendly place. That has changed in the last few years; the price of a pint is high and the quality of the beer only average. Bar staff unfriendly. With nearly all of the nearby pubs closed down a pint in the Hinds Head is now a grudge purchase.
On the plus side the interior is still clean, sparkling and lovely, the pub is usually busy and free of football types, and it seems a popular place to eat, with the eating area well demarcated from the pub area.
Could be much better.

Update from my previous post. Been in a few more times and they have recently started serving Timothy Taylors which was served perfectly!
Food still as great as ever.

can't agree more with the last comment. this place would be brilliant if they could only sort the ale out. some days it's great, others it's off. I think they don't bother changing the barrels when the ale has gone off. Seems to be ok at weekends, bad during the week. Perhaps this is why they aren't in the GBG anymore. It would also be nice if they tried some variety with the selection. How about a mild, stout, IPA occasionally? Also, I'm sure the locals would go for a local brew as a guest.
besides the ale, food is excellent. Restaurant quality at pub prices.
lot of events on. a real community pub

Food is incredible and reasonably priced. Good busy atmosphere. Let down by uninspiring beer range, mainly Marstons and Jennings. If this pub had decent beer, then it would be perfect!

Popped in with a friend the other week and was very impressed, she grew up round the area and knew the area well , me being a Knutsford lad hadn't a clue where i was going ,
we had the normal lager and wine for drinks , so nothing to say but very good and the food was amazing we only had sandwiches(hot) but they were brilliant
definitely go again

The hinds head has changed hands 2 or 3 times over the past 5 years. In that time it has transformed to a quiet, failing pub to one that is now popular and busy. The new landlord has done wonders for the establishment serving good food and also a good selection of real ales. Indeed, last time i was in there, there was a chap from CAMRA making a presentation to the landlord in appreciation of all his good works.
