This used to be a gem when it was a pub. It was visited from far and wide (I lived 10 miles away and used to visit it regularly). It is now a restaurant and not a pub. I walked in some time ago and immediately walked out. It was yet another country pub wrapped round an Islington wine bar. Grim.

Very expensive! More of a 'gastro-pub'. Nice food, but expensive.

Very posh. I mean VERY VERY posh. Although someone before me had rolled a joint in the toilet and left little bits of weed and tabacco on the side. It was a bit pricey but the food was delicious and the stella absolutly gourgeous. Id recommend this pub to people who fancy spoiling themselves.

This is no longer a pub and hasn't been for years (not since Whitbread bought it and identified each table with a number). It's a restaurant with an attached bar (dining not mandatory). Having said that, one can usually find TT Landlord amongst all the lager dispensers and it's a comfortable place to head for when out walking on the common or becoming bored with the cricket opposite.

I visited this pub because I was recommended to try it.
It's a great location with a vast field of a garden (uncut grass), and a large patio for both food and drink.
The problem as far as the drink was concerned there was next to nothing to have on draught, all sold out over the weekend. So my partner had a 1/2 of Peroni, as it turns out it was the last 1, so I had an Aspalls cider. You would think that the management running a pub would be able to keep the basics such as BEER available 7 days a week!
As we were meeting friends we decided to stay for some food, the food it's self was ok, but the hours wait was a bit excesive, as were the prices.
I will not be rushing back to this place.
