Had only bottled ales so walked straight out.

This pub would be an ideal starting point to walk , having had a beer first, and discover the rudest landlord in Norfolk, take a pic of him before he retires! local folk might point you in the right direction........

Day trip to Kings Lynn on Thursday 6-09-12...After sampling the 'delights' of the Maiden we ventured into here.No real ale on whatsoever! The lad behind the bar said as it had been delivered earlier that day. This is a sign of a very poorly run pub with cashflow issues. So I asked for a pint of 1664,the barrel went so his went down to the cellar to change it.Meanwhile a heavily tattooed gormless local thought that there was no-one on the bar at all and started to shout 'Matthew,Matthew' loud to get his attention for us!! This is so wrong. When the lad came back up he proceeded to pour my pint in a bloody Becks glass whilst he turned his back to me (ignorant and damned rude),I ordered a G&T for the wife and again no lime (Lime's cost about 20p max each) so it was pre bought lemon out of those God awful tubs.To top it off he put it into a half pint glass,no tall mixer glasses at all and this great experiences for the price of over 7.Again an original wooden features pub, ruined by idiots who dont have a clue how to run one.AVOID.

Empty on our visit on a Saturday afternoon, but with music far too load for comfort. Only one ale available, slightly hazy IPA.

I'm in it - Free Internet @ the bar - Brill - Greene King sadly, but this Abbot's tasting pretty good, bit heavy on the detergent but hopefully that will wear off throughout the day, nice looking place and most importantly this pub is OPEN - PLEASE NOTE CROWN AND MITRE!

A good fun pub over looking St Margrets Church. Some good beer and comfy seats in the corner.

Glad to hear it really is dong food now. Ironically, though, when I called in last Wednesday I didn't have time to eat before catching a bus. However, it was a plesent enough spot to while away half an hour over a drink or two. Almost empty - but was mid-afternoon on a week day.

I have visited wenns after long time..pub is quite neat. Quality of the Beer is excellent. ..

I could see changes been made in the pub for the better..offering food , heard there is new management in place. As last time when i visited i met a moron as the manager who was drunk most of the time.. Well good times are back to our old local.

My only criticism of this generally very nice pub is that - on more than one occasion - I've turned up at lunctime, ordered food and been told there wasn't any ... despite large signs to the contrary outside. To be fair, this was a couple of years ago so perhaps it doesn't happen now.

Fantastic staff and the couple that run it are friendly, funny people. Don't often venture any further than The Wenns anymore as it's got everything I need. Regular live music, poker nights, pool table, great food and a permanently good atmosphere. Met lots of good people in there too.

Finally found a decent couple to run the pub.
Good food offered at reasonable prices.
Good variety of beers but only a couple of ales.
Juke box varied, but wish someone would shoot the muppet who keeps playing Rolf Harris's "Tie me kangaroo down" when the atmosphere is on the rise.
Covered smoking area in back garden (Yard)

I agree. Nice pub. one of the best in Lynn. No toilet seat on the toilet though.

From summer 2001 through to spring 2002 I spent a lot of time in The Wenns. It had a good atmosphere and was always busy on Thu/Fri/Sat nights. The jukebox was pretty good too and sometimes the bands they had on were worth a watch. The reopening of The Globe in summer 02 did seem to hit the Wenns trade; The pub suddenly seemed abandoned. People seemed to come back to The Wenns thankfully! Unfortunately the pub seems absolutely dead these days. I've been several weekend evenings and theres hardly anyone in there now and the whole atmosphere is a little depressing. It's a shame as I've had some really good nights in there, but the only reason I go in there now is to play a few games of pool. A few years ago I would have rated the pub an 8, but now its only a 6 and thats me being generous

The Wenns is bset pub in town, you don't get any Chavs in there, its a sound pub for sound people, it had a bad rep in the past, but has now proven to be least likely place to end up in trouble these days, want hassle go to the globe, want a laugh and a social pint, come to the Wenns

The mast friendly pub in Kings Lynn thats for sure

A boozer for a Saturday afternoon rather than the evening as all the punters seem to be moving to the Globe. Good for footie and house doubles, bad for bouncers cutting short drinking up time.
