Reasonable hotel-bar felt slightly lacking in character. But ... can highly recommend the George for a hotel stay.

Called in for lunch, 4 real ales on, sampled 2 of them, both well kept and well served. Lunch was also very good, can''t fault the place.

Wonderful building but we must have visited on a bad day (8.3.15). The service was appalling and surly. It took us 2 hours to have a one course lunch! We had wanted pudding but they never came to take our order. It was busy but not that busy. There was no apology for keeping us waiting nor did they check our food was ok. Am afraid we won't be going back for quite some time. Shame.

This Pub Hotel was an old coaching inn. 4 hand pulls for Butcome Bitter, London Pride, Wadworth 6X and Breakspears Bitter. I had a pint of the latter which was well kept and cost £3.30.

Looked to be the busiest pub in Dorchester. Will try and stay here on my next visit. Wadworths 6X tasted average. £3.20

Satyed in the George for 3 nights recently, what a lovely place! It was reasonably priced for accommodation in this area of Oxfordshire. Your hosts Megan and Liaan were very good, the bar area of the hotel is nice to relax in and they had 3 ales on all at average prices but they were kept well. All in all it was a very good experience and i would certainly return.
