Now does six or seven beers and the food is as good as ever. well worth a visit. Still a pub and may that long continue

This pub was one of the first in the UK to cook Thai food, and I've been visiting on and off for the last 15-20 odd years. The guy who started it all was Tom Good, who later got into the Hash House running thing, but the food has always been absolutely fantastic. Green Chicken Curry is now a standard, but you have to taste it here to make any other comparison - it is just simply the best you will taste outside Thailand. Visited Mar-09 ... Tom seems to be long gone, and is now run by Thais, but food still excellent.
Has had a little bit of money spent on it recently, but is still a good pub and not a restaurant.
Still a Charles Wells tenancy, but always has very good beer and keeps a good cellar. This is a must-visit unique place - this is where I got my taste for Thai food from (thank you).
Food a little pricey 8.50 for a GCC , but worth it all the same.
Highly Recommended.

More a Thai restaurant than a pub these days but they do have a range of 4 real ales including Adnams Broadside and Tanglefoot. Lunch time pint is ok but would not go there at night as it can be a bit wierd.Near th Cambridge ground so its quite handy.

Beer range varies a lot; quality still OK to excellent. Bombardier always seems to go well with the food. Increasingly restauranty, but still a good drinking pub before Cambridge matches.

Good and inexpensive Thai food, although you can get better. Dark and dingy atmosphere. Alright for a lunchtime pint and food during the day, but attracts a rather dodgy clientele in the evening.
|
Certainly still the best place to eat Thai with real beer; suffers a bit at the moment from lack of a garden; beers range from OK to superb (Tanglefoot)

Very handy for Cambridge United and does excellent Thai food and good beer.

Superb but quite pricey Thai food. Interior now more trendy and less hospital green, but still not exactly a cosy local feel. Beer respectable.
|
Still bay far the best real ale and Thai food pub in the area. Also host to the Hash Hous Harriers on the third Thursday of the month.

I agree. I visited this pub in 2001 or 2002 and enjoyed not only a good pint, but indeed a generous portion of excellent Thai curry. The pub is quite a way out of town and tends to attract a more local, less touristy crowd than those in King Street for example. The pub was deservedly in the Good Beer Guide (Camra) which prompted my visit.
