i think the dog is a cracking student pub, and those that knock it for being a student pub just dont get it, it is unashamedly a student pub, and as long as it serves cheap beer, delivers good service and a great atmosphere then it is fulfilling its purpose. for a leicester uni student there really is no better student hangout, as it is chilled out with good food and comfy sofas during the day, big screen sport on all the time and is buzzing in the evening, espescially on a sunday night where drinks are only a quid. long live the dog

Its open late on the weekends but thats its only real advantage. it only carries the usual student range of cheap lagers but unless you go on a Saturday, they're not even that cheap.That its another pretentious place that has bouncers and a dress code is not a recommendation either.

The dog is a great student pub/ bar, with great deals on selected drinks on a sunday night!!! has a late license on thrusdays, fridays and saturdays. Great student atmosphere. Also pierre dem fit bouncers e.g. Bridge!!!! hes a hottie!!!!

Great on a Sunday night as selected drinks only �1 (e.g. bottles and pints etc). Be sure to take NUS after 8pm. The comfy sofas round the pool tables is wicked!

A student pub near the university� usually crammed Fridays and Saturdays, fairly friendly but avoid if u don't like jocks. Seating is near impossible to find, but the good atmosphere and free flowing alcohol make for a good pre night out.

Excellent student pub - relatively cheap beer, lots of seating & standing space, big screen, pool tables and a late licence Thursday-Saturday

Quality establishment! Friendly, up for a laugh and good food. plus, has the comfiest sofa i have ever sat on!!!
