Pied Bull, Farninghamback to pub details please note - reviews on this site are purely the opinion of site visitors, so don't take them too seriously.
Not a bad pub at all and quite popular because of this. The beer selection could be improved but it was quite varied and the food was good value and above average. Nice little garden for those warmer days, but parking can be a problem unless you arive early.

Yes, the Chequers is fine pub_aficionado if you enjoy drinking with the homeless or bearded grumpy old men with no room to breathe and no pub garden...

I'll ignore the endless emphasis on the food, which seems hardly relevant to a site devoted to beer, and simply suggest that beer devotees should shift up the road to the Chequers (but definitely past the Lion!)

We used to go here a lot and the food used to be excellent. The place used to be packed!! Went there last night for the first time in about 4 years. The place was empty. There was no atmosphere at all. We had chicken and bacon starters, they were nothing special. Then for main my husband had chicken again, and I ordered the burger!! Well the burger WAS TOTALLY RAW in the middle, and I mean raw!!! Talk about e.coli on a plate!! It looked like they had just browned the outside of the burger but had forgotten all about the middle!!! I complained of course. The price of the burger was removed from the bill, however the staff did not seem concerned about the dangers of serving RAW burgers, I suggested that their chef invest in a meat probe, so that he can check the core temperature of what he cooks in order to avoid poisoning anyone!!! NOT IMPRESSED AT ALL AND WOULD NOT GO BACK THERE!!!
