Great pint of Paulaner (German wheat beer) its the best pint I've ever had love!! At 5.5% can't drink too many though....Great facilities including dart board, pool table a well stocked Juke box and Lego for kids to play with. Last but the most impressive is the food cooked superbly by a local Chef. The steak is of excellent quality and at a reasonable price. If you like sauce with your steak then the peppercorn sauce is great but the Yorkshire blue cheese sauce is simply heavenly. Then if your still not full check out the cheese and biscuits, this is a platter that really does take some beating!! Overall a great pub in a great little village.

Generally a good pub! A choice of good ales and good food too. The steak in particular is amazing, best eaten with the blue cheese sauce in my opinion. I'll definitely be going back for more.

Really friendly and welcoming pub , we decided to pop in for a quick drink but then stayed for several more and dinner. The steak was lovely and the pork belly special was a real treat. So glad this pub is in our village !!!!!

Wow ! - this is a gem. We were visiting the area from Oxford and visited this pub - just about the best thing we did on our trip. 4 Ales on and very friendly and enthusiastic bar staff. It was the village festival weekend and the Landlord had commisioned a celebratory Ale from a local micro-brewery, which with another Guest Ale and 2 Thwaites ales was outstanding. The Landlord also has hopes to develope into a Brew-Pub and given his knowledge and enthusiasim for Ale, I wish I lived in the village. After a few excellent Ales, we decided to eat and had a superb steak. This pub has got it all !

My wife and i have lived in cawood for 16 year's now and i cannot remember a time when this pub sold a decent meal. That is until last wednesday we went to a steak night? The meal was superb i had a 12oz sirloin and my hungry wife nearly ate all her 10oz,it came with homemade chip's onion rings tomato and mushrooms,my wife opted for the "Yorkshire blue" sauce, the only downside was i did'nt have enough room for another one ! service was v.friendly,we will return !!

Pleasant pub located in the village centre with very little parking. Adequate beer and basic food offered. Not somewhere to make a special trip to visit, but if you're passing and thirsty you could do worse.
