Called in for a beer and some food. it was ok, nothing more. Dartmoor Jail Ale at £3.50 was below par.

Grat pub, friendly staff and most importantly good cask ales, quite expensive £3.40 a pint but a bit less than most pubs in Brixham.

We visit this pub about 4/5 times a year and in our opinion its the best pub in Brixham the ales are always spot on and the staff are very friendly. always a good crowd of friendly people in there

Called in at half term. Cracking pint of real ale but I'm blowed if I can remember what it was! Looked like the had regular music nights with a slant towards Blues....can't be bad.

A cosy feel to this place and a nice interior. The bar area is small with a few seats around the area. We had our drinks in the eating area which still had some charm. My only complaint was my pint of Carling which was a bit tasteless in hindsight i wish i had an ale instead.
7/10

It's a shame that a beautiful town like Brixham should have such miserable pubs. The Blue Anchor is the best, with good beer and locals who don't stare at you when you walk in. The place smells of fish and chips and the carpet is shiny with age, but it's still leagues ahead of anywhere else in town.

An alright pub. Really packed the Friday night we visited, so we ended up out back in the restaurant, which was a bit fish smelly... OK though, good location. There was a band on the night we were in which might explain why we were banished out back!

very good pub. the abbot was a good pint at 3-20 a pint and also have a happy hour between 16-00 and 17-00hrs when it only 2-60 a pint. only slight downfall the bar area does not have much seating area but still a good pub

Nice little boozer. Friendly staff and good beer.

I made a brief visit to the Blue Anchor - good pub, friendly welcome and atmosphere.

This pub has new owners just this week, haven't met them yet but for sure they can't be any worse than the previous couple. In all fairness she was ok but her partner, Stewart I think, was, and probably still is, an infantile moron who was totally incapable of holding his drink. I was there with my husband just after last Christmas when he staggered into the bar from their upstairs flat, drunk out of his head, and told everyone there to leave the pub as he was going to close, although it was only about 9 o'clock. Didn't go down too well with the customers that. Bar staff are really good there and I hope the new owners keep them on. I wish them all well.

Agreed, although I haven't been in for some time. When I did frequent the place from time to time, I was always made to feel welcome by the proprietors and customers. Ace place, and not far from a damn good fish and chip shop (Rio's) where they fry whatever they get from the fish market.

After visiting The Blue Anchor in February we felt it needed to be on BITE and wonder why no-one has ever rated it before ? What a fantastic little pub; well kept ales and fabulous food. Staff and locals extremely friendly. This is what a pub should be like....
