Five real ales on, all local. The three I had were well kept. Friendly pub for a pint.

4 real ales, 3 of which were local. I tried 2 and both were excellent

Rather quiet this Saturday gone which is a shame as this place deserves better. Could have done with a bit of background music to break up the silences when it's this quiet. Talk in the pub of places being killed off by cheap supermarket booze, hope this doesn't happen to this place. The beer selection was excellent and very well kept and tasty.

Lovely timber framed building in a quiet side street just a few yards from the centre of town, although the building shows its timber frame on walls and ceilings the decor is very plain, clean and light.
Entrance into tiny hallway with openings through to lounge on the right served by the corner of the bar. Turn left through the bar area with standing room at the bar and a bench seat under the window, which then opens out into a larger bar with tables and chairs and dart board. Very nice chatty local atmosphere in here; talking about cabbages and kings.
Excellent real ale, including a local brew which was really good; what more could you want?
So nice to see pubs like this in full swing. Although a board outside says that the lease is currently up for sale. I really hope whoever gets this place wants to run it make a living, not run it to make a mint, and keeps it as it is.

Lovely, truly traditional pub in the heart of Ellesmere, a true hub of the community and also popular with canal boat visitors. No piped music or distractions, just good conversation. Landlord (who was temporary anyway during my visits to the pub) holds some dubious views but each to their own. Recommended.

The White Hart was one of our best pub stops during a 3 week visit to the UK and Wales in 2005 (and we got into a LOT of pubs!). Our favorite part was the dogs! They would pick up squeaky toys, approach patrons, and get them to toss the toys for them to chase. It was great "social lubricant" because it got the patrons talking to one another about the funny dogs. The cask conditioned ale was excellent, and the atmosphere was comfortably friendly - don't change a thing! Lovely old building. A nice local. I wish it were in my neighborhood.

Being a resident of Birch Road, this is my local pub. The Guinness is excellent and the food is of a high standard.
A highly recommended venue for an evening out.

Good pub for a quiet drink and its a pity they dont have a beer garden. It could do with a re- vamp inside too.Attractive on the outside being tudor but disapointing when you walk in.Full of locals. They need to ditch the deers head above the fireplace too!!!

We are reputedly the oldest pub in Shropshire. Traditional cask ales and good pub grub. 5 minutes walk from canal and marina for holidays.
