London Bridge, Appletonback to pub details please note - reviews on this site are purely the opinion of site visitors, so don't take them too seriously.
Came back to test the water after JW takeover - We made a detour from our old tables round the back and planted ourselves in front of the bar in the shall we say European seating area  this was so we could keep an eye on activities in and around the bar. There were six real ales on offer (all J W Lees) and all of them were sampled by at least one RAT. The following is a summary of the beers and comments made;
Coronation Street amber colour 4.2% - not bad, good texture, reasonable flavour 6/10 JW Premium amber colour 4.5% - better than the bitter, good/enjoying it, alright 6.5/10 Gold Digger amber colour! 3.2% - looks goodbut, watery, no flavour 1/10 JW Bitter (award winning!) amber colour - 4.0% - watery, limited flavour, they somehow managed to remove flavour,,,, might as well have water,,, 5/10 Scorcher golden - 4.2% - slightly cloudy, good texture, no flavour 5.5/10 Game On amber colour 4.5% - good flavour 7.5/10
This gives an average mark of 5.25/10 for the beer served at the LB last night draw your own conclusions!

We used to frequent this pub every Thursday, it usually had 4-5 and sometimes 6 real ales - 3 of which were usually GK IPA, Directors, Bombadier, etc. It I noticed the beer getting poorer and poorer in 2009 and we dicided to bin it! Lo and behold, 3 weeks after binning it J W Lees took it over. It now has 6 J W Lees beers that all taste the same and are served in their dodgy glases that are moulded so your fingers sit in ridges. What a shame - Appleton Thorn Village Hall is our new home on Thursdays now.

Not eaten in here since the refurb (well, never if I'm honest) but since the modernisation and the addition of a decent range of real ale it has become a drinker's haven as well as a place favoured by a trendier but more mature crowd... not something that normally goes hand in hand with real ale pubs. So well done The London Bridge. One of very the few pub overhauls I've seen that has actually improved the place.

Nice place in a canal side location. Good beer garden/patio which is lovely in the summer. Smart interior and good atmosphere

Moved upmarket since the last refurb. Good selection of ales but at a price. Busy at weekends and all through summer. Now attracts 'the beautiful people'

This pub is very popular, so must be doing something right. However, in my own expeerience, it was dreadful for meals. We had a snack: steak on a baguette, with chips. The bread was stale and inedible. When I complained, it was replaced by indentically stale bread. When I asked to see the someone higher up (not sure who it was), he was very unhelpful and boasted that the bread couldn't be stale as they 'had 2 bread deliveries a week'. We got no customer service adn no refund or other offer of compensation. I have never been back.

Canalside Pub with a good crowd and decent selection of beers and lagers. Quiz nights Sunday to Tuesday.
