I’ve been here a few times now, but still have only acquainted myself with the bar nearest the main door. There are passages leading off that need exploring ! Anyway, on my latest visit the beer offerings were 4 Marstons related ales, and Slaters Top Totty. I tried the Brakspears Bitter which reasonable – and not too cold as beers here have been in the past.
Have still not eaten here, and doesn’t look like I will do so in the near future, as the menu consists mainly of various burgers – starting at £9.50 !! I do like the silly names they’ve given them though – the vegetable burger is called the Morrissey for instance !
Not sure if I’ve mentioned they have live music here in the evenings occasionally ? [ Again, not sampled ]

Now renamed Market Vaults. Had 5 beers on from 5 different breweries - but they were all Marstons ! Was virtually empty on a Friday lunchtime just before Christmas.

One of the better town centre pubs

Great beer, Fantastic range of whisky, friendly staff

Not a bad town centre pub and the Marstons Sunbeam was okay. The staff seemed to be eyeing up any 'new' folk in to see if they were on the 'barred by Pubwatch' list that they were perusing.

found this pub through the good beer guide, it has a great range of ales, the best whisky list of seen this side of scotland and live music. The best pub ive found in stafford exactly how a town center trad pub should be.

This was one of the first Irish theme pubs I ever encountered. Though the name remains, the pub interior, thankfully, has mellowed back into one fitting of a good back street pub. Service is friendly, whether you are a regular or just passing. Regulars are friendly and don't make it awkward for you to get to the bar. Beer is always in top condition.

I was surprised to find this very central Stafford pub not on here already, although it is rather hidden away down an alleyway off the main town square. I liked it a lot on my own visit - a surprisingly large interior with several rooms, and - on a Saturday afternoon - a busy and friendly feel. A good number of real ales available, and the one I had (the name of which I've forgotten) was pretty well-served. I would return.
