A good place to pop to for a cheap pint and a bit of food before going to the New Theatre up the road. The Purity Pure Ubu was in very good condition. Staff very friendly too.

Cheap as chips - excellent brains s.a. and a g&t for less than a fiver. As wetherspoons go it really wasnt too shoddy, the fact the other half only realised it was spoons once the barman told me how much drinks were says it all really. That said, the wig ans pen up the road isnt much moee expensive ans has a bit more atmos.

as w eatherspoons goes, this place is shockingly poor, food sent back, selection of ale is good, and its a nice place to drink in. but could do a lot better. give it a miss.

Yuk ! - very unenthusiastic staff, long waits to get served and disappointing ales.

The thinking man's 'Spoon. Sit in the nice upstairs balcony space or watch the comings and goings on George St. Usual 'Spoon fayre, but for my money the Swan and Castle has a better selection of guest ales. Less jakey types than The Swan and more students, which means that it can get busy at the weekend.

I usually stop off to see what is available form the guest ale range and often find something of interest. Typical Wetherspoons fare and offers - and sometimes the usual JDW problem - lack of staff!! It is always annoying when you just want a pint and the people in front of you want coffees; teas or pitchers of cocktails but that's how it goes I guess.

nice big spoons over two floors, quick service and good range of beers,7/10

Slow service late afternoon though lots of staff were around. Clean.

One of the better Wetherspoons I have been too. Cheap and cheerful and good ale selection.

Very good Wetherspoons. Efficient bar service and a very clean, comfortable atmosphere. Only grumble is the food seemed to take a very long time to arrive, but generally it seemed a good, well run place with lots of nice seating.

Typical Wetherspoons, good beer choice, cheap, above average beer quality. The only downside was the long wait to get served as somebody was paying in vouchers, judging by the number tendered, each one worth about 5p!

Somewhat above-average beer selection for a JDW, otherwise pretty much the usual formula

Large selection of cask. As the name suggests it's taken from the famous two Ronnie's sketch with a frame in the pub of a folk handle some o's and four candles with various pictures of the two Ronnie's.
Beer was good clientele hmmm but a nice pub overall. Made me smile.
