Yes - passed the pub today, and it's obvious that the work hasn't started yet.
The place looks a mess - but is in a lovely leafy location.
Plenty of walks, wildlife and potential.

Been closed for a while - but new owers have just got planning permission for a £2 million redevelopment, which is to start soon.

Visited on a Saturday early lunchtime. Given the location (rural, but on chavvy rat-run from Hurst Green to South Oxted), you'd expect this place to be rammed with people tucking into great beer and piles of food. Sadly not, but it's not a bad pub all the same. Our Harveys was OK but lacking its usual fresh lustre. Pub looks a bit in need of a cuddle and the loos ran out of hand-towels - odd when you consider the two bar-ladies chattering away to themselves at the bar. Friendly enough, good location near Greensand Way, 20 mins walk to Old Oxted, 15 to Hurst Green. Worth a visit.

Went there last night for the first time since its re-launch. Couldn't see any difference..looked very tired and in desperate need of a good clean. A huge white dog seemed to prefer jumping up to the bar... the food was very average..had roast beef - overcooked with dry and tasteless veggies. Sauces only in service station style sachets..It was so disappointing to go back after what could have been a superb oportunity to make this pub into something special only to find no obvious improvement - even the same smell of cigarette smoke prevading the bar..

If you are looking for somewhere to go out for a meal then this isnt the place to go - really no idea at all about how to run a restaurant - very shoddy service - the food wasnt as described as on the menu, things kept running out, no serving spoons, no condiments, food cold. Very disappointed all round!

Re-opened. As good as ever. Doom Bar, Pride and Harveys all in good nick.

Venue has been closed for a few months now, and expected to be reopened but by enthusiastic couple with experience of country pubs.

What can I say about this pub of which I stumbled upon whilst lost in Oxted? Well, not a lot positive unfortunately. We visited late on a Saturday lunch time, about 2pm. A wide selection of Beers and Lagers promising, and friendly bar staff who were most welcoming.
The square shaped bar was very convenient and allowed us to take our daughter to one side whilst we purchased drinks and sat down at a table. A small Dining area, which felt a little intrusive as there was a party of 8 in there right across the middle.
Working in the pub industry in the past, I could tell this was a fresh food pub so expected a wait on food so we ordered starters of Battered Prawns and some Garlic Bread. I'd love to say how they were but unfortunately after an HOUR the food still hadn't arrived.
Our daughter had had enough by then, and so had I so we decided to pay for our drinks and leave. The one saving grace being that they decided not to charge us for the drinks. Which we appreciated, however have no plans on visiting again. A real shame.

This is my favourite pub in the whole world. Honest. The beer is well-kept. They have Youngs, Pride, and a Guest Ale. The food is excellent. Especially Steak Night on Thursdays when you get steak, sides and a drink for 12. It has loads of fun events, including live music the first Friday of every month, and a variety of discos, beer festivals, bbqs, and fireworks on New Year and Bonfire Night. Everyone is really friendly and welcoming - random people I've met there have become friends. It is the best village pub anyone could ask for. The only drawback is it not being a free house so they don't have as many different beer varieties as some other pubs in the area.
