For an O'Neills this is a decent little boozer.
Friendly, helpful bar staff, table service without asking and good quality beer.

I have been going here for over 5 years and always had good experiences. It's certainly a better alternative to The Northcote or the other chain bars further down the road.

A really nice chain pub. Good range of beers, well poured and deffinatly not flat. Good service from friendly french staff, who do table service as well. I know that it is a chain boozer, but it is a good boozer.

Very confused over the negativity this place seems to have attracted on this site.

I've frequented this pub over the past 4 years and it has always been somewhere I can sit down and have a quiet drink and a chat on a weekday and have more lively nights out on Fridays and Saturdays.

Contrary to other comments, the service is prompt, the staff are very friendly and make you feel at home - certainly a place you could make your local - totally devoid of the pretentiousness found elsewhere in Clapham Junction.

Sadly, the management seem to have taken notice of comments made here and taken measures such as withdrawing stools from the bar (why?!?!) to the dismay of paying regulars - can we have them back please?

CRAP. Rude staff, actually no make that completely awful staff. Just can't say enough about how bad the bar staff are.
Dirty pub too. If you want something a bit pubbish go for the Northcote across rd or The Falcon down near train station.

This pub used to be a reasonable place to have a drink near Clapham Junction, could get a seat etc. Now seems to have gone downhill rather - generally seedy atmosphere, very poor service at the bar - when I did get served had to repeat my order 4 times, grrr, and somewhat rough clientele in there now. I won't be going back again.

Shame as there is a bit of a dirth of non-poncey pubs in the CJ area.

Yeah it's a chain, but at least O'Neills try to look like pubs and not IKEA showrooms. Decent range of lagers (though the Stella seems more turbocharged in here than anywhere else - dangerous) and the food is perfectly edible. Long bar and plenty of efficient staff so the service is good. Massive screen and they seem to show a lot of sport - but get in early as it fills up! Best place to watch the footie in this part of London.

Was only OK when it opened and was only OK to about a year ago but why do they persist to call these Irish bars when they are not. When they started O'Neills employed all Irish managers then Bass must have had a clear out or all the managers are in Barbados from the bonuses...but there's none left and it shows. They are now a confused brand in decline...sad cos they were OK.

OK, O'Neill's is a chain, OK it is niether an authentic or traditional Irish pub, but people get over yourselves! This is one of the busiest, friendliest and most happening pubs in Clapham, and it has table service to boot. If you want a quality place to start a night out this is the pub for you, if you want a traditional Irish drinking den it definitely isn't - surely even you eedjits should've been able to work that out by now! All in all a wicked pub with live music 6-8 on Sun and fantastic staff. Only poor point would be the leery wasted men looking for some skirt on a Sat night, but hey it is Clapham!

I agree with BK, it's nothing like a real Irish pub - I was let in despite being in a group of 4 english lads, was smiled at by friendly serving staff, served quickly, acceptable food and had a good loud pissed night without being made to feel that i personally was responsible for abusing the country for 600 years in the past.
