White Hart, Southwarkback to pub details please note - reviews on this site are purely the opinion of site visitors, so don't take them too seriously.
Lacks character. Unusually for a Fuller's pub the draft Pride was in pretty poor condition when I called in twice out of three days when staying in the area (thought the first time it might be bad luck, but clearly the staff don't know much about keeping ale). Much better beer and ambience in the Kings Arms, Roupell Street.

One of the best pubs in this area. Great Victorian corner pub in a street of otherwise bland or ugly modern buildings. Space inside is limited due to large island bar but room to stand outside and ideal place in good weather. Staff are excellent as is the beer - Timothy Taylors Landlord a favourite. Pub is full of character.

After a couple of hours in Tate Modern, & starting the beer day at the Founder's Arms I called in here on my slow walk back to the Tube. Previous reviewers have called it traditional, "proper", and so on. I agree. Bantering but polite locals, efficient bar staff, a nice pint of Pride @ 3.80 which seemed about par for the area. One of my new favourite pubs.

The overriding thing about this pub is the load music. If you don't like loud music and particularly loud Ibiza music, you'll loath this place.
It did seem a shame to me in that the building is beautiful so the surroundings are pleasant - but your temples will be pounding with the row.

I'm glad the White Hart has finally appeared on BITE. I work just around the corner and while the Charles Dickens is the 'work local', the White Hart makes an appealing alternative. Whilst it is not really one for the real ale enthusiasts it is what I would term as a 'proper' pub, family run with no fancy themes or pretensions, marked out by the fact that it doesn't produce over-priced gastro-grub and the barstaff don't change every five minutes. The WH has a friendly atmosphere and locals, builders and suits mix perfectly comfortably. It is blessed with a large paved area out the front with strange, large benches thoughtfully provided by Southwark Council, so it's a bit of a magnet during good weather. Off the beaten track which also helps. Oh, and in contrast with the Dickens, clean, modern khasis !

Selection of real ales and wines to offer along side the usual lagers and non-alcoholic drinks. Lunch-Time tradition pub food is served from 11am to 3pm.

Quite a smart looking pub, hidden away between London Bridge and Southwark tube station. However, from the look of the clientele, you are more likely to find groups of builders in here rather than office workers. Two real ales on, Pride and a reasonable Greene King IPA. A bit more of a local than most pubs in the area, and none the worse for that. (NB - Review dates from July 2009 which was before the pub was listed on BITE.)
