Great cellar bar, great atmosphere all gone, they built a bookshop on it.

I remember this pub when it first opened. One of Ruddles Breweries outposts. It's fair to say that this pub was one of the best I ever drank in. If you were one of the regulars (and I was) you would be told when they had an especially good barrel of County in, which they kept quiet about. Since one of the barmaids was half of a husband and wife sailing crew, at Rustons Sailing Club, where I sailed. I was assured of the nod when the exceptional brew came in.

Yeah, what a pub! I used to go there when I lived in Lincoln in '86

I worked here as a barman for a few months in 1979. I have just been back to Lincoln and I was sad to see it had gone.

Really sad that this place has closed. Went there once with friends to be met by a slightly befuddled bloke who insisted on buying everyone a drink, as it was his birthday. We asked for the Sam Smith's but got suspicious-looking Guinness - it was actually Guinness, blackcurrent and Pernod! One of the lads actually drank three of them, which didn't help improve the temper of his then girlfriend! Always an adventure emerging back into the daylight after a good session! Sadly missed. I think I meant 'missed'.

Gone but not forgotten - Anna kept it true to its routes - if you took it as it was the welcome was wonderful. The stairs were always a struggle after the D Pils
