Walked past the pub and didn't go in as it looked like a big barn of a place with little of interest in it. I imagine that at one time it could have been an oldy worldy sort of venue......but at some point anything of character has been ripped out.
As others have mentioned seemed more like a cafe than a pub.

No longer a pub, more like a cafe for youngsters. Loud music from a speaker in the ceiling was irritating. Tribute and St Austell's latest brew, Cornish Best, at the bar.

First pub you come to on the left as you enter Looe. Inside is a little on the bland side and felt a bit like a cafe. I had a couple of glasses of red wine in here from the tap and it was very good indeed.

lovely little pub.... cant ask for no more

Still only Doom Bar and Tribute. A guest ale on the third pump would be nice. Maybe one day.

Another one on the market at the moment. Yours as a going concern pub/restaurant for £575k. Never a great pub. Be interesting to see how it goes but for the price there is a serious danger of this being a sizeable number of holiday apartments rather than a pub.

Doom Bar and Tribute the only real ale choice. A better choice of food at reasonable prices. Tasted okay but nothing special. Friendly Heston Blumenthal look-a-like barman.

Quiet in June. Some rough looking clientele and an odd smell. Not a good choice...

Being the first pub you come to on the high street, you would expect it to be a bit more inviting. Instead you get 50's decor and no atmosphere! The food is as bad as ever, all freezer to microwave rubbish! It appears that the staff are controlled by their surrounding and seem to make the best out of a bad situation! They must be very tollerant to take all the complaints and still manage to smile and be pleasant to customers! I take it CONSTABLE wasn't responsible for the hideous painting behind the bar! On the upside......... the beer was ok!

An good sized looking pub situated on the main street just down from the harbour. Inside it is perhaps a little disappointing, not really living up to what you might expect. In fact with its blue carpet and blue bench seating, it reminds me more of a Conservative club than your average pub.
Theres a large fan and some wood panelling on the ceiling giving a slightly colonial feel to the place. Theres a plasma at one end and a fruit machine, with a quiz machine and pool table at the other. There seemed to be a few chavs in on a recent Saturday night visit.
Beers on tap were Courage Best and Doom Bar. Ciders were Strongbow and Westons Scrumpy Supreme.

No atmosphere and almost no beer. If bloody Doom Bar is the best option I might consider drinking lager................no, perhaps not.

I have becoming to Looe now for several years. I have been to all the pubs in looe and i have to say this one is getting worse every year. The beer is overpriced. The food gets worse every year which is also overpriced. The place has no feel at all, Interior is back dated... Needs Investment
