Still a decent pub, serves decent food at decent prices. Friendly & helpful bar staff. Smoking area at side of pub. I had pints of in house brew 'Spitting Feathers', a decent session beer.

Decent ales, not a bad pub but due to layout can get congested; better to visit early in the evening before it gets too full.

Large one roomed pub just outside City Centre. Popular local live music venue in the evenings with a good eclectic mix of music. Staff and landlady very friendly with a good choice of beers. Real Ales kept very well. Well worth combining a visit with a beer in The Fountain across the road.

A nice warm interior to quite a large pub. A friendly welcome from the gaffer who served me a nice pint of mild. However, I could have done without the racist jokes he was telling to 2 of the regulars after I went to sit down. Consequently I won't be coming here again.

Decent beer, friendly staff, live band that could play. Nice pub.

Current landlord aquired the lease in August last year and is transforming this place succesfully. Already he has been nominated for the cask marque for his quality of real ales. The selection is limited to three hand pulls but we're talking quality, not quantity! Definately worth a visit if you're in the vicinity! Make sure you get someone to drive you home ;-)
On last visit (yesterday) there was the old favourite Pedigree, Old Empire and Cross Buttock

Large, white rendered building with conservatory and large beer garden. The inside has a long bar, with large open plan room, where they do food - indeed, have had an xmas meal here in the past. The service was friendly enough, but as it was so quiet when we visited, it seemed so empty as it is a large place.
The beer was usual stuff with Banks's MILD on handpull and it was very nice. Nothing fantastic, i would pop in, along with the Fountain, just up the road, from time to time, if you can get me out the George & Dragon!
