Appears to have been out of business since May 2018.

Oh! And there was a guy outside with HUGE mobile sound system blasting out reggae. So I have amended my score to a big fat 10.

Dark and grim. Cheap though. Handy for the train station as well.
Went in with the boys on match day. Good few pints of cheap lager, no bother, and friendly staff. Would return if in the area, definitely a reasonably good example of a spoons!
Fantastic well kept real ale. Food good, service was spot on, better then almost all wetherspoons i've been into, friendly staff well kept place, clean toilets. a nice family pub.....shame it's in Thornton Heath!
A hideous, nasty hole of a boozer. Inattentive staff, poorly kept beer and a strange smell. Clearly a "local pub for local people". Best avoided - go to the Telegraph up the road if you want a beer in the area.

Having used this pub on occaisons over the years, I was utterley bemused about a change of policy form family dining. At 7.30 in the evening it is now unacceptable for anyone under 18 to eat. I was yold that this is now national policy - no mention on the JDW website. Iwas told that tthere was a notice on the door - this only refered to the childrens menu 'suitable for up to 10 years old'. The youngest of our party was 16. The duty manager tried to fob me off with changes to the law, children certificates etc. This does not explain how most proper pubs serving food manage to be far more welcoming to all.

Ugly looking building, and a whole platoon of smokers lurking outside the front door. However, once inside, it turned out to be a perfectly serviceable (if unexceptional) 'spoons. Bar staff were efficient, the tables were clear and the real ale festival beers were a bargain 1.69. The Port Grumpy's Pale Ale was fine. Really not too bad.

I'm no weatherspoons fan, but this palce seemed to be better than most. Initial impressions weren't great, with the pub stuck in the ground floor of some concrete monstrosity of a building and the bar was filled of the standard array of drunks wasting away their days. However, the staff were incredibly friendly, the Abbot was as good as any I've tried before and the food, which I was told would take 10-15 minutes, was with me in less than 5. I don't doubt that it would be a different story on a match day (Plastic glasses. Eugh!!), but today I had an enjoyable weatherspoons experience for a change.

Only good thing about this place is it's location right outside the station. Below average Spoons, in last night before the Saints at Palace and all they had apart from Pedigree and Abbot was a tasteless O'Hanlons Firefly and Weltons Old Harry, which was off when I asked for a pint. Plastic glasses because of the football.
Pretty dismal.

nice referb, new staff & mgr. toilets won two awards off croydon advatizer couple of weeks ago. good food & beer now, clean too a real good effort by new mgr & team. probably the best pub around thornton heath now.
This pub is now called the Flora Sandes.
Domino players dominate the place and think its therces. Service is slow and food always takes forever!
Dry food, weird locals and I had my phone nicked in here!
We were bounced out of our table by the dominos-players. Most of them are all right but one of them likes to bang down his pieces as he plays. Maybe he thinks it adds drama, forcefulness and pizzazz to his game. What it actually does is add irritation to people nearby. A ban might be in order. The usual good-quality bitters at low prices for which we love W'spoons. Right on top of the Victoria to Brighton railway and under an office-block. Handy for station, buses and 24-hour Tesco's opposite. Cheery staff.
Part of the JD Wetherspoon chain. Warm beer, very loud dominoes players. Food - small portions and slow service. OK for a pint, but not recommendable.
