This my local and has been for about 6 months, fantastic place, pleasant people, friendly bar staff, football (although there is a slight leaning towards rugby that is a touch annoying! : - )), pool tables, decent grub, and v. cheap beer a lot of the time. less than 2 quid a pint between 7 and 9, what a result!

Forgot to mention Lois and Liam, btw - very good barstaff: friendly and efficient.

Soon to undergo a name change - will become The World's End. Went in here last night for the first time in about 3 years and must say it has changed for the better. Richard, the landlord, is an excellent chap who has his finger on the pulse of what is needed to turn this place around. Give him time, he'll get there.
Also took part in the quiz (only its second week but worth having a stab at). QM and wife (Stanley and Susan) are a really charming couple and it's a very interesting quiz - and I'm not only saying that because I won!

Dont go here to watch the football, the psychopaths come out.

Good friendly pub though now under new ownership, London Pride is now off (replaced by IPA)and the menus have changed abit, trying to be a bit more upmarket though food still tastes like its microwaved, still always good for a few jars before you go on into town, a decent local in the London Road area, only the nearby Rosehill is a better propositon in my view.

Always like this place - not a daily venue for me but I pop in there quite often. The "waiter/ess" service for drinks is a good idea, particularly when you are in the middle of a particularly good game of "Miner 49er" on the quiz machine and your glass is empty!! :-)

Quite nice decor, and the food's OK, but is it really necessary to have all 6 pumps serving London Pride? No it isn't!!!

Agree with Jim - casks behind the bar are now just a con

Used to be better, with ales in the keg behind the staff, since stopped sadly, but still a good few pints I've quaffed in there with pleasure.

Packed whenever I've visited. Friendly locals have always made me feel welcome. Usual good range of real ales.
