Woops!... that was meant to be my review of the Boleyn. The stuff about being raucous and avoiding in away colours stands

If this pub, with its stained glass and Victorian fittings, was in Highbury or Chelsea or somewhere, it'd be a trendy-ish gastro joint. Instead it's a very reliable, albeit raucous, place to get a swift pint on match days (lots of staff on duty), but probably best avoided if you're in away colours.

I really like this pub but i can see why some people would think twice. Its a proper pub, where the men are men.. and so are the women. Staff are very friendly and work hard during match days, beer is ok. My only fault with this place is whoever the younger bloke behind the bar was, should jog on, he got drunk and abused a member of staff, from what i could see , for no apparent reason.. what a tool.. hope he reads this... will keep going there though

Looks enjoyably fearsome from the outside but will admit I did not venture in.
Popped in hear last night...nothing special but the barmaid was lovely...even showed me the way to the toilet!!
true about the seats and a few years ago, u could smell the bogs from the streets..... but a good crowd... cant remember the pint....
There remains a place in the world for boozers such as this, (ie. complete khazis). It gets so boring going in clean cabin cruisers that sell decent beer.
walked past the other day.. looks like its about to be demolished as part of the queens market development.... if that goes there will only be 2 pubs left on the once vibrant green street
went in here wednesday night after the chelsea hammers match, which as an away fan was probably not to wise a move,it was chock full of not so happy hammers baying for some blue blood,so we thought we better drink up before some one spotted the chelsea shirt peeping over the top of our jumpers, might be a nice place on non match days, but best avoided when theres a game on
This is the classic example of the east end dive, when inthere at 5;30 in evening and already the middle age drunk at one end of bar wanting to have a go at every one.The rest of the other clints looked like they had spent the day on can of Tennants extra strong before going to the pub. I also advise do not look at the seats before sitting down, hate to think what the stains were.
an easy place to spend your whole day!

The Most Georgeous Ale. Really liked the place/beer.

I visited the pub last weekend during my first stay at Upton Park. It was good attended, the stuff was quick and they had at least 3 TV's (1 big screen). For me as an german hammer supporter it was easy to find some talkings and friends to drink my pint with. I'll be back soon. Greetings to the Winchester Guy's

I visited the queens recently and there was problem with the jukebox,I found the staff extremly co-operative.
A pub for all races.!.

since the demise of football hooliganism at upton park, this pub has changed. Its very welcoming, not "laddish" at all like it was in the 80s,and theres a wonderful mix of all races.Very much recommended
