Modern bar/pub with a good selection of well kept ales. Always seemed busy.
|
The most atmospheric pub in Hebden Bridge. Good selection of real ales. Always very friendly.
|
Good and varied range of real ales on offer at reasonable prices (if you're a CAMRA member, show your card for 20p a pint off). The decor - minimalist, modern, and a bit clinical - may not be to everyone's taste but the quality of beer amply compensates for the lack of 'pub atmosphere'

Beer still good, however the manager that was interested in talking about the beer doesnt seem to be there any more. Showcasing 3 Wadworth beers and the Pictish Gold still on form, 2.50 one of the cheapest in town. This cannot be said for the food as mentioned, try the bowl of chips (I think we counted eight chunky delicious chips) for 3. Is the Beef and Horseradish sandwich really 9.95? The deals are cheaper, soup and sandwich at lunch 5.95 but don't expect to be full. The soup bowl was probably 1 inch deep. Early bird pre 7pm for starter and main is the best bet (14 I think). Very good quality but definately no quantity..

The beer is great but they have totally lost the plot on the food. Horrendously over priced, beefburger 13.95, rib eye steak 19.95 and you can not eat these in the restaurant, that menu is even dearer. I actually saw one couple moved out of the empty restaurant when they fancied something off of the bar menu. Simon you are sitting on a gold mine if only you knew it. In the location you are in you should be cleaning up in Hebden Bridge.

Good well-kept ales from local micros. Modern, minamalist interior and friendly service. Unfortunalelty, minamalist also describes the food - my shepherd's pie(9.95) was tiny with no veg etc, more of a snack than a main meal. So, worth popping in for a drink but eat elsewhere.

Located on the edge of the town centre, this posh bar/restaurant has a very contemporary vibe and was doing a fairly brisk trade on a hot saturday afternoon. Six ales were available from a variety of interesting sources, and my pint of Norman's Conquest MM (2.80) was delicious and served at the correct temperature. The interior was quite modern and non-descript with a mixture of tables and sofas. Wimbledon was on the telly and it was a pleasant enough visit.

As a regular I find that the beer is served at the correct tempearture and in tip top condition. The bar manager is willing to order any beer requested and if you have any complaints about a beer (end of barrell etc) it is immediately replaced without question. The real ale is at very competitive priced (though the other drinks are dearer).
The food is good though the portions are a bit on the small side (for me anyway!)

I live in Hebden Bridge and went with a friend on the strength of a recommendation. we won't be going again. The beer may have arrived from the suppliers OK, but it was as cold as a standard lager and so you couldn't taste it.
Unfortunately it appears these days that in many pubs beer and lager are stored at the same temperature and that means that whilst lager may be okay the beer is, in my opinion, awful.
I won't be going again, especially as the Fox and Goose and the Stubbin Wharf are in staggering distance.

Visited while waiting for my train home following the Keighley & Worth Valley Railway Beer Festival. Modern decor. The 3 beers tried out of 6 were excellantly served and kept. Will be back to try again with maybe some food......

If you can look past the pretentiousness of the food presentation, dcor, other customers and for that matter Hebden Bridge as a whole, Moyles is a real find. The food was excellent starters about 6-7, mains 12-19, choice of about 8 of each including a couple of vegetarians. Also about 6 hand-pulled beers on (mostly local ones), the three we tried were excellent and very surprisingly no dearer than pub prices. Service was excellent, staff friendly and approachable. Half price if youve got a Hi-Life card. Parking may be a problem during the day.

Contemporary bar and restaurant. The Pictish Brewers Gold is a bargain at 2.20 and always perfectly kept. The most reliable value for money pint in Hebden is at the poshest venue!

Excellent hotel / restaurant with a public bar serving four real ales, one of which is normally Pictish Brewer's Gold from Rochdale, and the others constantly rotating guests from small independent breweries. The bar has received Pub of the Season, and Pub of the Year awards from the local CAMRA branch.

Should be 'Moyles'
