The Black Lion was my final stop on an 8 pub Bucks crawl. I arrived as the fog was descending quickly. But, the interior was a cosy retreat, with a number of rooms scattered around the central bar. The owners and regulars seemed quite jovial. The ale selection was decent and varied - Vale Good King & Brill Gold, Black Sheep Blitzen & Cotleigh Hoppy Xmas. A decent end to my Monday evening in one of the best pubs in Bourne End.

Called in a couple of days ago early evening. Very friendly staff, nice Rebellion IPA and smart comy surroundings. Shame i was driving, otherwise would have like to have settled down with a few more pints. Not very busy.

Recent change in manager. Proper local pub, decent selection of beers from Rebellion and XT Breweries. Probably the best pub in Bourne End.

Since my last visit to this pub in early August, my strong preference has moved to the nearby/magnificent Firefly where I am welcomed with open arms.

Pub has been totally re-furbished - greta new look whilst keeping a cosy pub feel about it - open fire, traditional tables etc.
Has a pool table and dart board and shows Sky Sports and other sporting events - 2 TV's to show any clashing events
2 Real Ales on tap which change regularly and a selection of lagers (tap and bottle) and Guinness and Smooth. Nice selection of wines - French and New World. Great compliments to the menu which provides a great variety of traditional food and some twists. Roasts served on a Sunday.
Well worth a visit during the week or the week-end. Families welcome and a greta place to meet with your mates. Check it out
