Closed for about a year now, currently looks as though it's being used by squatters as a junk shop. Can't see it ever reopening, but no great loss.

I'd rather stick rusty drawing pins in my eyes than drink here. Having said that, I've not been in for some time. During my last visit, my mate accidentally tripped the Elvis impersonator over - Poor fella almost had a very nasty accident with his mic. Sadly, he was still able to sing.....

This is a great pub!! I'm down there all the time with friends, its great in the week when you just want a quiet drink and then the weekend starts on Thursday when its karaoke. Then Friday night it becomes a great place to go to, as someone said earlier, before popping off the Charlie Chans. Sunday night the whole pub comes alive for the quiz.
Overall, I would recommend this pub to anyone who wants to have a great time and not have to spend a lot of money.

This place has gone well and truly downhill over the last 3 years.
All the previous charm from before (not to mention all the pool tables and people) has gone and been replaced with yet another characterless Arena.
On a Thursday night (karaoke night) it is taken over by over-zealous staff who think they can sing. In the daytime the jukebox is taken over by the staff playing r n b music, and Friday and Saturday night is full of children before they all pop off to Charlie Chans.
The manager gives the most unwelcoming vibe, the staff are more interested in chatting than serving, and there is a distinct lack of locals in there.
If you think I am an old fart, I am 22.
If you want to see where the schoolkids go at night, come to the Royston!

As a pub this could be one of the best in Chingford but unfortunately the Pub Manager gives off a very hostile vibe.
Many of the locals have abanoned this pub and been replaced by kids who give the impression of a school disco on a Friday & Saturday night.
The new manager needs to look after her older clientel (20+) the ones the actually put money into the tills and get a personality transplant.
Excellent prospects!!!

that should be Q-pid stunt!!!!

Nice friendly pub with excellent entertainment. Especially on a Saturday when they have live bands like the Cupid Stunts!
