Incidentally - it's now called 'The Fox' and it is very 'Fox' themed. Seemed popular yesterday with friendly locals. Saved this pub 'til last in my 5 year Weald pub challenge so was a bit disappointed they'd dropped 'Intrepid' from their name. 127 pubs completed inside the M23, M25 and A21 without using a car. Thanks girls for celebrating with me.

I live in West Hoathly after there difficult years with two different owners the pub has been completely refurbished in the last three months and is now heavily used by locals and passing trade, the pub has a gastro feel to it the food is all made in house by the chef owner Tim. The pub is in Highbrook Lane West Hoathly not Top Rd as listed .

Not been here for a while as was closed for some time. Very friendly locals and staff, roast dinner with real beef for 9 quid, with good selection of vegetables not overcooked! and very nice pint of well-kept Harveys. Recommended.

Incidentally - it's now called the 'Vinols Cross' (rather than The Intrepid Fox).

Popped in for midweek pint having passed this place many a time. Received a warm welcome and the interior has a pleasant 'clubhouse' feel with wooden floors and assorted seats and tables. Three ales on offer when I visited - Harvey's Sussex, Abbot Ale and Long Blonde from the Long Man Brewery (nicely kept too). Didn't eat although saw others enjoying a meal. Good honest pub grub menu by the looks of it and if you don't fancy a full-blown main then there are alternatives like toasted sandwiches. Got the impression that they'll rustle you up something and nothing seems like too much trouble for them. Worth popping in if you're passing by.

This place is closed, with a sign attached saying "business for sale".

Used to be the Vinols Green and is the only pub left in Sharpthorne now that the Bluebell has been turned into a private house. Novelty setting as the photo shows. Used to come her for bar billiards, donkey's years ago.

Feels more like a wine bar than a pub. Only beer on offer was Harvey's. If you don't want a full meal at lunchtime, the only option is a small panini with a few lettuce leaves. It's very expensive for what you get. There's a small patio garden around the back of the building with nice views.
The pub is actually in Sharpthorne, although it seems to have a West Hoathly postal address.
