Taylors and the Earl Ferrers (which is nearer to Streatham station) are the best 2 pubs in Streatham. The staff in Taylors are very friendly and it has a nice chilled out atmosphere. The food is really good (especially Sunday lunch) and there is a quiz night on Tuesdays. I would recommend this pub to anyone wanting a beer in the Streatham Hill area. They also do an alcoholic ginger beer called Franks which I think is nicer than Crabbies (not as sweet), I've not found this on sale in any other pub than Taylors.

Think this place changed owners about six weeks ago.
Seemed fine when I went in today. Only one ale on tap - Young's bitter - which was 3 per pint and well kept.
Quiet but friendly clientele. Not sure about food as it was too late, but says it's served from midday.
Better than any other option in that stretch of the High Road.

This looks pretty awful from the outside - uninspiring frontage and, when I visited, some fairly unappetising looking people hanging about outside - but inside it was a different matter and I thought it was a friendly and welcoming place. Only one real ale that I could see (Young's - which was off), but the food smelled really tasty and there was a great mix of locals in there. Service was good and friendly and despite the weak ale provision I can see why this has a high average rating.

Great pub for a few drinks. A good no nonsense boozer, nice staff and good mix of customers. Food has got erratic.

Very good Sunday roast, had lamb, great gravy. Would have qualified as a great sunday roast if there had been a bit more meat, thought it was a bit stingy in this respect although it was late in teh day and they may have been trying to make remainders stretch. Still no action on Jack Stamps next door.

Best Pub in down town Streatham
Have used this pub for a few years when Stena & Steve ran the bar (where did they go? especially stena)
Like all pubs you have the characters & I'm sure they wouldn't like to upset Isobel (landlady)& her staff as they would be shown the door politely of course.
Isobel the landlady & No 1 host, who has been there for a few years run avery tight ship & knows how to deal with staff & customers alike. If you like value for money & need substanance go for the english

Woop! Good place for some beer on St Reatham high road - nice atmos and some good prices.
|
Best pub in Streatham, by a mile. Helped by decent, generous, value for money food and friendly staff.
|
best pub on the high road BY A MILE. good service, nice moody (i.e. proper pub) lighting, quiz machine, decent music. Only complaint was that it was too smoky but now the smoking ban has kicked in its great. well worth a visit. food really good value, nachos are massive, and the chicken with cheese & bacon is yum, burgers look massive. nice mix of young and old, regulars & 1st timers i.e just want you want in a pub

Good pub. Nice interior and good beer. Food menu looks decent too.
Definitely one of the best pubs in Streatham and probably the best in this area of Streatham.
Better than the hell hole next door...

quality - shame it doesn't have a later licence...

The pub food is good and reasonably priced. The breakfast is huge!! I can never finish it all! Best deal is that on a Saturday they are half price - bargain!
They offer a rather difficult quiz on a Tuesday night at 8:30pm which the pub is usually busy for so get along early to get a table. Board games are also available.
Downside: VERY smokey.

Nice, cosy and a pleasant place to meet or drink on yr own. A bit of a clicky local and in need of "something", but generally the best place to go on the High Rd.
Definately a haunt of the trendy "Clapaham-ite" tribes.

This is an excellent pub.

This is such a great pub. I keep meaning to comment and then forgetting. The food is lavish - the sunday roasts in particular - the staff are great and it's just such a relief there is actually somewhere decent to drink on the high street!
|
Decent pub with quiz nights and innovative promotions. Once agin, no real ale but what's there is good. Mock Irish O'Neill's decor but staff and customers are friendly.
|
One of the best pubs in south London. Not particularly cheap but very well-kept beers (unfortunately no real ales). They also have really quite entertaining promotions including Roll the Dice: roll a nine or above with two dice and get your drink free!
This place has more regulars (including some very attractive ones) than your average boozer and it's easy to see why. The combination of decent food, drink, friendly staff, cosy atmosphere and busy, buzzy location make it an absolute gem on a street bereft of acceptable taverns.

Best pub in Streatham. Nice atmosphere, music, seating and beer. Top quiz and a fish tank!
|
The nicest pub to enjoy a pint in in Streatham without question! And the quiz on Tuesday's is a cracker.
|
Good challenging quiz. Good for quiet drinks and less quite drinks. Huge fish tank too! - Ed

This pub is OK to just go and chill in. The staff are OK. The service is good and the beer is good.
They have loads of papers and magazines in there. Music is kinda 'chill out' stuff with bits of funk in there. Not many 'top looking' birds in there at all! Not a place to 'mingle' in.
Very wooden 'homely' decor to it.
Clientelle are typically about mid-twenties up. Mostly couples in there.
They have (difficult) quizes on in there.
It's alright in there!

My boyfriend and I have been going to Taylors for years and have see many changes. It has recently been taken over by couple Stewart and Stena, they have both done a great job redecorating the place and have introduced a new menu which is very yummy. Stena does all the h ome cooking. The pub has transformed from being a bit grotty to hip and happening and pretty chilled out as you will see when you get there. Theres a good mixture of people in T's, and a pretty chilled out group of regulars(better watch 'em though). T's is close to other pubs, bars and a good selection of resterants in the area. So, if you like good music,a drink up, and the rest, I would reccomended it!!.

Just about the best pub in Streatham to be honest. Friendly staff and a nice pint. Food slightly pricey but always good and surroundings are great. Music is a bit indie but you do get a load of rockers in sometimes..some top looking birds as well...

Recently taken over - much improved. Good music now and getting quite busy these days, there are cocktail nights with cheap shots and stuff.
