Fellow, Camdenback to pub details please note - reviews on this site are purely the opinion of site visitors, so don't take them too seriously.
With a little time to kill near King's Cross yesterday morning, I headed to this corner gastropub, a stone's throw from the station. It has a nice interior, with a square shape room. The majority of tables are set out for diners. But, 3 ales are dispensed. Young's Bitter is the staple. Guests were Purity Ubu & Hook Norton Old Hooky. I went for the Old Hooky, which was fine. But at £5 a pint, you may choose elsewhere to have a session.

Fine but pretty generic in this land of gastropubs. The beer selection - Doombar, Young's Ordinary and Ubu is unimaginative although the service was friendly and the canapés (for a friend's wedding party) looked decent enough. Noisy, busy and mainstream, reflecting the way Kings Cross is going - better than the old days but with a corporate sheen.

Will be too gastro for some tastes, but given the paucity of options in the immediate area, this isn't bad. They aren't giving the food away but it's good stuff.

I was here for a friends birthday last Sunday and I feet that the staff deserved a bit of a shout out in case they were not told that day. I've been here a few times and I can say it was the busiest I've seen this pub. The food was great, the service was friendly and the whole atmosphere suited a lazy Sunday afternoon perfectly, while the staff still being quick and efficient. I've been here in the past and it hasn't been overly kid friendly (I had my 5 year old with me this time) but the staff that day fell over themselves to make our group feel welcome, and gave my son a 'mini roast' which did wonders for him falling asleep which allowed me to have another glass of wine! It gets a bit dark inside until the candles come out, and it gets a bit noisy when busy, but this pub has great staff and great atmosphere and I for one can't wait to get back there again - hopefully next time with a babysitter!

I really like The Fellow in Kings Cross - such a great addition to the area!
It's got something for everyone; amazing top quality local food, great selection of wines, beers and spirits and a beautiful roof garden and cocktail bar that's open late.
Staff is attentive and friendly (although they could do with an extra set of hands as they are almost always busy!)
If you're in the area (or even if your not) I would recomend stopping in - not to be missed!

Food passable, very very poor, unsmiling service. Staff priority is getting diners out of the door when they've finished. Surly staff more interested in crowd control than customer service.
Typical London pub/restaurant identity crisis - invite drinkers in, chuck 'em out when we want to play restaurants. We booked in for 25-seat lunch, spending vast amounts of cash and yet: *denied access to roof terrace due to it being booked 4 hours later; *diners given the old "kitchen closed" story and then only allowed one dish off the menu to fit in with what's convenient with chef: chicken pie (vegetarians can stop reading now); *asked to vacate table for subsequent booking (we all stood around for 30 mins gazing at empty table held for party who never showed up); *final straw was teenage bar staff asking us to stop laughing because we were lowering the tone of the restaurant.
Really poorly-run business: decent beer, adequate but underwhelming food, customer service rock bottom, treated diners like cattle - AND they wanted a tip!! To be avoided.

What a great little gem right in the middle of King's Cross! The food was amazing (crab on toast for starters and roasted hake for main - yumm) and the selection of wines by the glass was great (the Rioja by the glass was absolutely delicious). My boyfriend was impressed by the choice of ales (HSB - cult favourite) and the atmosphere was charming - cosy and candle lit. My one disappointment was that the food did take longer than I would have liked (25 minutes for the mains) but the restaurant was busy - and with food that good, it was worth the wait!

Not too sure about this place.
Whilst the food is good and the wine list extensive (but also expensive), I couldn't help but feel a little uncomfortable here. Couldn't quite put my finger on whether it was the slightly cold service and the sterile feel of an empty restaurant, or whether it was the decor.
Anyway, worth popping into if you are hungry and in the area, but make sure you've got funds in the bank or someone else is paying...!!

I was a bit dubious when I heard the old Masque bar was being turned into a gastro but thankfully the owners have been simpathetic to the needs of the area and have come up with what I can only describe as the best eatery in the area.
Wonderful dishes such as steak tartare and hake with clams and white wine are served alongside a rather long but very unique wine list. Great friendly service and good ambiance in the evening.
They have a secluded roof terrace which is perfect for smoking and after dinner drinks, and an adjoining cocktail bar which is open late.
Can get a little busy after work on a Friday (I would avoid!) but is perfect for a midweek or Sunday dinner & drinks.

The decor is cold and unwelcoming. They call it "modern" but the colours grey and blue are not very cosy. It is on a noisy road, at the dodgy side of Kings Cross, but now this corner is being rapidly redeveloped and will be changing a lot over the next 5 years no doubt. Expennsive wines for what they are. No bitters or ales or traditional English Beers at all, despite a mention of "ale" in their marketing blurb. Just the very usual lagers and Guinness.. They stocked Westons Organic Cider which is the only thing I liked about this place. An enquiry to them about the ales or bitters they stocked was sarcastic and ill-informed, telling me "of course" they sold them as they *were* a pub, (which I thought was a bit rude and patronising) and then listing a selection of lagers! Tsk. If you need a pub around here , this isn't the one to go for in my opinion. Maybe they are still finding their feet, but I think they have started off on the wrong foot.

Expensive Gastro bar downstairs, drinking without eating will get you turfed out of your seat. Upstairs quieter bar with sofas with outside area for the nicotine junkies. Cannot remember if it sold beer of any note as since i didn't want the Devilled Chicken Livers i wasn't allowed to drink any.
Most interesting point is unisex toilet resulting in lots of scowling women if the last male occupant has left the seat up!
