Roebuck, Maidstoneback to pub details please note - reviews on this site are purely the opinion of site visitors, so don't take them too seriously.
What a shame. Went ba k in tonight after a gap of two years, and disinterested staff. The landlord sat our side of the jump tapping into his mobole phone, no a knowledgement or interest. Bored staff and unfriendly. Wont go back.

I had thirty minutes to spare in Harrietsham today (mid afternoon) so thought I would give the Roebuck a try. As others have said the interior is a bit social-club like, but otherwise clean and tidy. The beers were Goachers Mild and Harveys.
A request for a sample of the Goachers was met without question and a smile. Tasted good. I see they have free Wifi and a good menu. Would try again perhaps when it was a bit busier, but looked alright to me.

So very sad to hear Jac and Tom are leaving us for pastures new they will be missed by everyone, The Roebuck has flourished in the 2 Years they have been in charge, glad to hear that their Chef is taking over and that the the Staff are staying we are seriously spoiled with such a great Crew here.Saturday was another fab Dinner & Dance hopefully not the last. We wish you all the best for the Future and you wont get rid of us that easy, we plan to visit...often !

Had an absolutely fantastic Night here on Saturday, Dinner & Disco, 3 course meal to die for and danced into the small hours, atmosphere was amazing.Tom Jac and the Staff here can really pull it off, other places should look and learn, We had to pick up our Friends from a nearby Town and had one in their Local first, it was empty whilst The Roebuck was packed. We tell everyone we meet what a great place this is.

We have been on Tripadvisor aswel to review The Roebuck. It is an exceptional place in our opinion, we too are new to the area and have been in every weekend, Sunday Roast is a real treat but all the Food is great, what we love most is the atmosphere that the Management and Staff create, so relaxed and nothing is too much trouble even though it can get busy at times the service is always excellent. Definitely new regular Customers !

Just popped across for a full English on a super Sunny morning in Harrietsham wasn't sure if Breakfast was limited to just Hotel Guests but we looked out our window and saw a few sitting on the Patio with large Glasses of Juice so we venturted over. Jack and Tom were their usual welcoming selves and sat to have a Coffee with us.Breakie was fab. We love this place.

We have just moved to the area, across the Road, we visited the Roebuck a couple of times whilst purchasing our Cottage and it became one of the selling points. We came on Sunday for Lunch with my inlaws and a couple of Friends, it was quite Busy with Diners and the Bar sounded busy aswel. We were once again given a huge warm welcome, the Owners Jackie and Tom remembered our names and asked how our move had gone and if they could do anything to help, my Mum inlaw was astounded as were my Friends they could not believe the Hospitality. We hadn't booked but were quickly shown to a Table we mostly had Roasts with the exception of my Hubby who had a Roebuck Burger, the food was amazing so plentiful. Everyone around us seemed to be enjoying it too with lots of good comments being overheard. The Staff were a joy too, you could tell they really like working here. We are so glad we have moved to Harrietsham and found this wonderful place to socialise in.My Hubbys worry is that because the Food is so good our brand new Cooker will remain brand new ! I don't post on these sites ever but this certainly deserves a mention.

This place has come a long way in the last year its hardly recognisable. Its not been refurbed or even had a lick of Paint but just goes to show you don't have to spend fortunes to turn a place around.Regular live entertainment, great Food, friendly efficient Staff, we are liking it much The Roebuck.Rated you a 9 only because I agree with previous posts could do with a little 'tart up', not alot though as we don't want it ruined.

Not really, less than 10 reviews in 6 months... Do forgive me for spending my excessive paycheques so readily in local eateries.

Sitting in the Roebuck now and have just had an amazing Roast, Beef was extremely tender, the only thing I would say is average about this Pub is the Decor, apart from that its hard to beat for service standards etc. Try one of their theme nights they are very good value, great Food and entertainment

Firstly I would like to say that this is my first post in my own name I have commented before using my Brothers password.Benton is rather sceptical and spends a hell of a lot of time commenting on this site.

Wow, the Roebuck. Allegedly, the best pub in Kent according to BITE's completely open and fair voting system. Hmm... I'm going to break the mould here in two ways:
1) I have more than one post on this account and nobody else who has posted their review this year does - and, 2) I'm going to call it exactly what it is: average.
Food was average, beef was overcooked. Not particularly great value. Not a massive selection of ales either. I must say however it's cosy inside, and I would go here again. But 9/10? Come on.
Credit where it's due though, the publican's spending some time (but not money, clearly) in marketing his pub on the internet.

New Years Eve made our Christmas, it was a fantastic evening, a great DJ who I believe is a local, his choice of music totally suited the crowd and his lighting was exceptional, the dance floor was full all night. The Buffet was superb it said on the Tickets 'Luxury Buffet' this is not always the case anywhere else but The Roebuck proves itself time after time. The Wife and I are so glad we made the decision to join in on NYE my feet are still killing me I havn't danced that much in years we even had a little snog, how about that. Thank you Tom Jak & Team from 'Mr H'.

A small group og GOGS ( Grumpy old Gits ) would like to heap praise on The Roebuck for providing us with a super Christmas Lunch. Everything from the Food to the service was faultless. We have made 2 further reservations and are very much looking forward to them, next time we are with with the Wives so we must have been impressed ! Its rare as a group of GOGS we get treated so well but we were made to feel like VIPS. Nice to see other reviews who agree with us.

I am puzzled by this place, 3rd visit so far and the Food is seriously good actually its better than good.It wouldn't ever have been my first choice of somewhere to go locally but my Wife and I have grown tired of the big flashy chains and their rubish meal deals so we gave it a go a couple of months ago and keep returning. Its a weird one, everyone is really friendly even remembering your name drink etc. service is what you'd expect if you were paying tripple the price and the Menu, well I just want to eat everything on it , it takes us ages to decide. Yes the Decor is a bit dated but its 'Kitchness' kind of goes, if you get me,and its so clean everywhere, only moan would have been the lighting it was a bit bright but now they have softened it and have nice candles on all the tables plus the Fire is lighting by the Sofas. So when I said puzzled at the start I meant that I coulkdn't quite put my finger on why I like it here so much, I suppose its just the whole package, The Govenor & his Mrs, Staff, Service, Food, Beer, Price & atmosphere, its so relaxed and jolly you don't want to leave. So well done The Roebuck keep up the good work, you have christned me 'Mr H' so one on the House next time please ! Oh and if you are thinking of giving it a go, you probably should reserve its got very popular.

Stayed here Saturday Night and attended The Dinner & Dance Evening. We were not expecting to have such a wonderfull Evening it took us totally by surprise. We were at a local event during the Day and thought we were just going to have a fairly boring time afterwards. The Landlady explained what was happening and said we were welcome to attend. The food,3 course set Menu, and I love my Food, was what I would expect in a 5 Star Hotel, superb, and service to match, didn't have the best Table as it was fully booked but we were made very comfortable in a cosy corner. A female songstress provided Hits from the 60's 70's through to present Day, it was one of the best Evenings Entertainment. Plus we only had to crawl up the stairs to bed after. Well done to all concerned, the Locals are a great bunch also. Hopefully we will be in the area again to experience this lovely place such a pity there is nothing like it where we come from.

Had probably the best Sunday Roast ever here, pure quality ingredients. The atmosphere is plesant and relaxed, service is exceptional. The colour scheme in the Conservatory is quite 80's but chatting to the Owners they have plans to tone it down, its clealiness is to a very high standard, the Toilets were gleaming. It wasnt that busy when we arrived but most Tables were filled by the time we left. There is a seperate Bar area, lots of laughter and banter could be heard but nothing intimidating which can often happen. We just thought it was a lovely Sunday afternoon out, spent in a very well run establishement.

I promised I would come on BITE and Tripadvisor with Tons of praise for The Roebuck but I see QuizBuffs have beat me to it, twice !, Agree with everything they said it was a fantastic Evening and the first of many I'm sure, problem is we probably will have to bid for Tickets as it becomes more and more popular. We stayed the night and again it was charming. Felt sorry for them this morning Cooking Breakfast for what seemed like a fullhouse but everyone was in great spirits discussing the night before. Honestly people if you have not yet been give it a go, the Food is a must ! Thank you Jackie Tom and the brilliant Staff @ The Roebuck

Recently under new management The Roebuck is fantastic. Decor in the Bar/restaurant may be considered a little dated, but it is spotlessly clean. The welcome is warm & friendly, the food simply divine - good home cooking, - Sunday lunch is brilliant value for money. They are also advertising several themed nights (Thai night coming up soon) & a dinner dance evening. Looking forward to watching this little gem of a pub dazzle even more in the coming months.

Best Meal we have ever had here, plus a much nicer atmosphere. Looks like our Village is going to get what it deserves. A decent well run place finally.

Well to be fair its not a Pub, its a Small Hotel with a Restaurant and large Bar attached. Agree the Bar could do with a Makeover I curiously poked my Nose in. We stayed here for 2 nights last week and had such a lovely time. They say on their Menu its the' Home of Hospitality' and I have to agree. The Conservatory Restaurant has a Country Cottage feel to it and the Food is superb, once finished our Dinner we sat on the lovely big soft Couches and enjoyed a Drink. New people have just taken over and its obvious they are working really hard, outside furniture was being replaced, Flowers were being planted, Boards were being painted, all this going on and they still had time to chat to us.I think the Bar is more for the Locals, but I would definitely reccommend the other Bar for a nice drink there were 3 Real Ales on during our visit so changes have been made. There are also a few Events coming up in July one of which we have booked for, a Dinner & Dance Evening, how novel, nobody does this anymore we thought it was great. Wish these People all the Luck they are doing a great Job so far.

Pub looks great from the outside, but pretty dingey and has a social club look to it inside, and a poor selection of ales. The only pump they had when I last went there was off, so I had to make do with lager. I haven't tried the food.
