Wyndham Arms, Cullomptonback to pub details please note - reviews on this site are purely the opinion of site visitors, so don't take them too seriously.
Having walked over three miles to get here thankfully the pub was open.
A very healthy flow of people on a Saturday lunchtime, certainly the hub of the village.
Cosy inside with a lovely inglenook fireplace at one end.
Three ales on but a little expensive really at £3.80 a pint.
7/10 A reasonable village pub

Visited this pub one Friday evening for something to eat and drink whilst staying nearby. This is a historic pub in the centre of the quaint village of Kentisbeare, parking is a bit tight here it has to be said.
The interior is bright and cosy and also what you may expect of a rural pub. They had 3 ales on offer from the Otter Brewery. The food was good and the staff were great despite being rushed off their feet.
It's great seeing a rural pub thriving and serving the local community in the face of so many pub closures. It was very busy but also very welcoming, it's both child and dog friendly too at the Wyndham Arms. I do recommend you make a visit.

we spent a week in kentisbeare and used this in the evenings, the food is great, the beer is great, landlord and locals very social. would recommend this pub to anyone visiting kentisbeare.Disregard all older reviews of this pub because the present landlord and staff are brilliant. wish we had this pub in my village.

PLEASE NOTE: This pub changed hands last August and has since gone down hill considerably. The service is as poor as the food and the prices are extrotionate. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!!!!

We went to the Wyndham Arms today for Sunday lunch. We were, sadly, unimpressed.
Issues: - We waited one hour for our food - The Peartiser which we were served was 7 months gone off and half fermented. - The waitress served me my 'diet coke' with the words "here's your pepsi.. Oh, I mean diet coke". I don't really care whether I get coke or pepsi, but why try to conceal the fact it's Pepsi?? - Food was average and the quantity a little stingy - One of the meals was served with a dead squashed fruit fly on the rim of the plate... Nice touch! - Beer mats, salt & pepper, a dry table, the menu and gravy all had to be specially requested. - Although the wait, Peartiser and fruitfly were all brought to the attention of the landlord/lady, none appeared to acquire much of a reaction... More so a look of query and a mental shrug of the shoulders.
On the plus side, the desserts, although we didn't treat ourselves, looked fantastic as they were coming out of the kitchen.
We won't be returning.

We visited this excellent village dining-pub twice during our recent stay in East Devon in August. How I wish that we had pubs as good as this at home in Shropshire! The Wyndham Arms is a proper village local in the attractive village of Kentisbeare, a few miles from both Honiton and Cullompton. The pub is next to the Church and opposite the village shop/post-office. There are Lots of wooden tables and umbrellas in a shaded area behind the pub suitable for summer lunchtimes and warm evenings. The only criticism is that like many other village pubs, car-parking is not plentiful, though we managed to find a space each time parked tight beside the low-wall round the churchyard. Unfortunately on my getting in and out of the car on both occasions I was molested by the gear-stick! The pub keeps excellent Otter Bitter and Otter Ale, I also noticed Doom Bar as a guest ale, there may have been more. Halfway through our first visit the family were already asking me whether we could visit again during our stay. The Restaurant Service was attentive, with just the right delay between courses. Comparing our two visits ALL the bar, serving and kitchen staff were all different on each occasion, but they all had one thing in common, they were ALL very well trained and were very friendly and helpful. For example, my Wife asked for some Rose by the glass, they didn't have any open but the barman put himself out to go and find a bottle and bring a small sample glass into the Restaurant for my wife to try. They have a wide ranging traditional pub menu and a good range of Specials available. There is a proper Restaurant area, though we could have eaten at a table in the bar if we had wanted. The food is nicely cooked to order, so it does not arrive five minutes after you have ordered, "fresh from the microwave." We visit East Devon several times each year, and when we go back at Christmas there are no prizes for guessing where we will be eating and drinking!

what a stunning village pub ! Cross section of very friendly locals of all ages, great service and a cosy bar serving Otter Amber, Ale, Bitter and Shepard Neame Spitfire all in stunning condition. This was our first visit but well worth seeking out. They even offer a hairdressing service on saturday mornings. A true community pub and a total gem
