Another Restaurant - Just what Hampstead needed!
|
Now an Indian Restaurant.
|
Going to be turned into a house apparently.

This fantastic pub unfortunately closed down some months ago now. It's was a real shame as this was a proper boozer where you could let your hair down and have a civilised session.
It is sadly missed.

Looked closed when I last went by. Surely not.

The pool table is back!!! And the pub remains with its original seats. Still having two tv's. Only place to watch the football in Hampstead! Great!!

At last a real pub with real beer and a real pub manager[Sam].
|
Avoid it when there's a walking tour in. You'll never get served.

A great pub on a tuesday night for the quiz. Sam is great too and always very friendly and welcoming.

Always pleasant to have a drink. Never seems to be overly busy like some Hampstead pubs.

British pub version of the American series "Cheers" Test the new Manager's encyclopaedic memory while you're there - maybe on a Tuesday Quiz Night.

Popped in a few times since the new manager, Sam, has taken over.
How refreshing to be in a Hampstead pub that is individual and not kow-towing to fashion trends.
Two plasma screens, very sports oriented but, nevertheless, interesting characters and good conversation.

Renamed pub and refurbished; the manager and main bar maid are very efficient and friendly. They have created a good local atmosphere and even give out free sandwiches on a Sunday afternoon

Stopped by last week. It has been renamed Gertie Brownes. New paint job and plasma screens.

It's great to know the the lovely Sam Stephen has recently been appointed as new Manager. A local man, very experienced and half Irish to boot!.

Located directly on Heath Street this is quite an interesting pub, being Irish by definition rather than design. The engagingly scatty Irish landlord adds a laid back sense of fun to the place. Courage beers, Best and Directors, pool table and outside seating area at the back. May not sit well with the Hampstead set and although it wasnt that busy I imagine it has it own set of highly satisfied regulars.
