Friendly pub with a nice welcome. The real ales they had on were uninspiring and run of the mill. I can't even remember what I ordered!!! the pub is very nice however and well worth a visit. The best in Lymington (as posted by a previous person on here)?? I fear not, there are better drinking establishments in this town, the Kings Head, to name one!!!.

Beers available were Flack Double or Palmers Dorset. As Flack Double is produced by the Ex owners of Ringwood Brewery I went for a pint of that, and very nic it was too. Unfortunately only one bar was open as the other was undergoing extensive renovation. However as it was a Sunny evening I took full advantage of the terraced Patio and wonderful display of Plants (Especially the Fuchsias). Will definately be back next time I am in the area

The TT gets a lot of adverse comment, mostly unjustified. Landlord Jon Burdge is a decent chap trying to make a living in a difficult market and keep all types of customer happy. The younger crowd need somewhere to go. You were that age once and definitely made a fool of yourself in a pub. There's another bar if you don't like the chart music. The TT has given a reliable home to the Lymington Folk Club (accoustic music) on first and third Wednesdays (FREE). Most of LFC's clientele are over 40 , tho' we welcome younger folk. We drink the beer and sometimes order food which is tasty and reasonable. We've looked at other places, but we've agreed 'We like the Tripp' and we'll stay ! My personal comment - best Lymington pub since the Bugle closed in 1971 !

I'm young and I hate the Tripp. The only reason I go is because it's the last stop on the crawl up the highstreet. It has an awful atmosphere and is over run by young people. The dj is something I just don't understand. Live bands yes, but crap chart music blaring at me when i'm ordering is just a nightmare. So more of a fisher price pub than a place for a drink and a chat.

Best summed up as a "Dr Jekyll & Mr Hyde" type of pub. This pub looks perfectly respectable from the outside, but what you do not see are on the photograph are two small signs proclaiming the following:-
"These premises are strictly for over 21's".
"Smart Casual Dress Only. No Headwear"
Sporting a Panama hat, and undeterred by the second sign, I entered and ordered a pint of Ringwood "Best", the other offering being "49er". The beer was in good condition, and I repaired to the outside courtyard. No smashed glasses and other such detritus but this was a lunchtime visit. Presumably, the 40 M.P.H. sign does not appertain to any vehicular speed limit, rather than to the average I.Q. of the individuals that "Jonnysaint" mentions.
Not a great deal of atmosphere, I'm afraid - 4/10.

Mystified by the comments below We visited on the BH weekend where it seemed to be the only pub with any life. OK we didn't enter to talk to the locals. Band playing, a reasonable pint of Ringwood and a relaxed evening rather than the deathly silence in so many other pubs around town. And I'm no youngster - agreed not my choice for every night but sometimes.....

This place has gone down the pan. It's very popular with the kids who appear to have taken this place over. Anyone over the age of 21 will feel out of place. Nothing spectacular about the booze. They serve a couple of Ringwood ales if you are desperate to come in here. Large seating area outside which fills up with kids who can't handle their booze. Smashed glasses, drunk boys staggering around being pricks. Live music - mostly rubbish local bands with the odd exception. To cater to the kids again. If you're a serious boozer or want a decent chat and atmosphere, don't come to this kindergarten. Go to a proper pub - the nearest from the Tripp being either The White Hart or Musketeer. The Tripp along with the Fusion across the road is totally off limits for me. The two of them serve up a crap evening.

Used to be a great pub ran by a mad jock (Dundee United Kev) since he left for Greece the pub has gone downhill
|
Urchins hangout saw oliver in there and tiny tim. If your over 18 forget it you have to be going through puberty.
|
Pale shadow of its sister pub in Christchurch. Lacking in atmosphere although the lay out doesn't help matters.

Again good staff, good landlord and good food especially the day after a heavy night in here (works chips reccommended) either in the pleasant beer garden during summer or after watching and sometimes dancing to one of the many bands who play here again and again.
Have spent half my legal drinking life in here so far and dread to think how much I've spent but then it doesn't matter, its been worth it!!! And I'm sure there is many local/regulars out there who would agree. Good Stuff.

Great staff and Landlord and a good friendly crowd. If you are a local!
Fantastic!

Fantastic pub with some of the best music you'll hear in Lymington. Be sure to check out Peeping Toms and Ear Candy, two of the best acts that perform there regularly.
