Decent pub, smoking area by car park, efficient barmaid; TV was too loud. 3 ales on, I had 'Three Tuns' a decent pint.

Nice local-style pub. Worth the short walk across the bridge to sit and relax in the beer-garden with a very nice pint of Three Tuns XXX. The landlady (I think she was, anyway) was friendly and welcoming, and while we were supping outside, a few more locals appeared. We went back in to return our glasses when we left and said a quick "thank-you", and the locals said "Cheers lads" as we left - always an encouraging sign and we will return on our next visit to Shrewsbury.

Small local pub situated not too far from the town centre. It was fairly quiet on our Saturday lunchtime visit. 3 ales were on - Salopian Oracle, Sharps Doom Bar & Three Tuns XXX. We all plumped for the XXX, which was fine. Not bad. But there are far better in Shrewsbury.

Nice enough plain basic decor pub, which was quiet early on Thursday night, although it had a friendly local feel. They have music advertised for some nights which may be livelier. Choice of 3 real ales I think. The Salopian Oracle was OK but a bit sour/bitter, nothing wrong with it but just not to my taste. The Stonehouse Brewery Station Bitter was more to my liking, very nice, although both were slightly cool in my opinion.

A decent pub, which is neither town centre nor suburban in feel. Located on the busy Frankwell thoroughfare though.
I have to say that I'm not quite sure why it's in the GBG 2010, considering the Shropshire pubs which I think ought to be in there that aren't! Had a pint of Salopian Oracle, which was okay. The choice of real ales wasn't exactly spectacular.
Friendly landlady though and as I said, a decent pub, though there is so much more (real ale wise) just over the river in the Smithfield Road/Victoria Quay area! (Montgomery's Tower, The Armoury, The Salopian..) I've given it a 7/10

Decent locals pub just across the Welsh bridge. Central bar with a raised tap room at the back which has a pool table and dartboard along with a quiz machine and a video game machine. The lounge has a black and white timbered ceiling with tables and chairs set up round the outside and a large open fireplace that no longer has a fire. Two of the tables were set up for dominoes last night. Two handpumps on the bar serving Salopian Oracle and Ruddles County. Had a pint of the Oracle which was very good. Its a nice little place this, Ill call in again.
