This place is now called The Quayside and the do serve real ale. Also CAMRA members get a 10% discount on real ale. In here last Saturday lunch time and quite busy. TV’s are showing BBC News channel. 3 hand pulls for Courage Directors and 2 from Latton Gold & Best. I had a pint of the Best which was very nice and cost just £1.89 with my discount.

Admittedly S&J don't stand a chance across the road from such a great JDW offering, but @ least they could have a couple of ales like other good S&J have available, not just 2 bare handpumps. The barman said "we don't serve real ale anymore" so opted for a reasonable 2.20 pint of bow instead. 5/10 shame could do lots better........

PollyP - if its service you desire, visit the Penny Black (wetherspoons) over the road, you shall not be disappointed.

PollyP - strange that you should only review 4 pubs, all on 20th October and that they should be all Smith & Jones pubs in diverse parts of North West England. I have no problem with brewer/pub employees reviewing pubs so long as they identify themselves as such. We are not all as stupid as you.......
