Not just closed but recently demolished.

Should add to the review below that anyone who'd planned on stopping off at the Bernard Arms on a walk or similar (it's listed in quite a few pub walk books) should head down Church Lane to the side of the pub and they'll find the Swan half a mile down the road is still very much open.

Closed since August 2011 and decaying into dereliction. Ironic as it's located opposite the back entrance to Chequers -- it's an example of the way successive governments have bled the pub industry dry.

Closed and dark, I hear...

Came here on Weds eve as the first pub in our 5 pub crawl. Fortunately 2 of my friends were in first & I was informed that of the 2 beers there, one was flat & was on the way to being useful for putting on your fish & chips. I did an immediate about-turn. Oh dear.

NIce pub, worth a stop on way home but a bit soul-less

Pleasant pub on the Aylesbury-Wycombe main road near Princes Risborough. The beer garden is very good complete with trampoline. Unfortunately the beer lets it down badly - the Tring beer was almost on the turn, but not enough to take it back. The GK IPA and Abbott were rather lifeless. I think in the warm weather and with a poor throughput the beer suffers. The beer has been variable in the past.

Nearest pub to Chequers. Letters and photos from prime ministerial visits displayed in bar, including hilarious account of an encounter with Boris Yeltsin. But all they've got from Gordon is 2 non-committal letters from aides. I popped in only for a quick half on a Saturday afternoon walk, so can't comment on the food. They had 3 real ales, including Adnams. But, apart from the political connections, there doesn't seem anything special about this pub.
