Our second stop in Bognor was the Alex, a small local pub in a fairly prominent location. Just the one real ale was available, which was Bath Ales Gem. There are just 2-3 rooms and there were already a handful of locals in on our Saturday morning visit. It is quite light and airy.

Recently visited Bognor, this pub has character, well kept [if a bit pricey] real ales and a secluded smoking area. Not a bad pub, probably one of the best in Bognor.

lovely friendly pub good real ale.

This pub is the only true English pub for miles around, the kind of place a lady can enter alone with no fear of intimidation. A nice friendly atmosphere. Good lunchtime food. Excellent ales, both regular & guest, and an excellent selection of wines and spirits. Coffee is available if required. All at reasonable prices. Martyn and Jan, the landlord & landlady are on duty normally until about two p.m. and again about six p.m. There is no pool table or jukebox. There is a nice little suntrap garden. Well worth a visit. I personally like the Courage Best, they also have Speckled Hen, John Smiths, various lagers and generally a guest ale

I agree with the comments posted by Zuma. Called in here after reading about it on BITE and I was not disappointed. The pint of Otter Ale I had was worth the visit. The rest of my party had coffee and they said that it was very nice. A bit busy (a good sign) but I didn't have to wait to be served. Will certainly pop into this pub again when I am next in Bognor.

Called in here for the first time while visiting my daughter.Lovely traditional pub with a bit of what's missing in a lot of places - character.Friendly barmaid. Nice pint of Otter. They do food but didn't try. Worth a visit.

Desevedly in the Good Beer Guide, probably the only pub in Bognor worth bothering with. It's pretty handy for the station and not bad for a town centre pub. A collection of mugs hang from the rafters. The Arundel Gold went down particualarly well on a warm day.

Great pub, lovely Real Ale, bit of an older crowd and could be slightly less cleekey to the outsider but why on earth is it closed on a Sunday evening at 5.30pm?
