Closed pubs have years of history, sometimes hundreds of years. A closed pub is still worthy of discussion.

Posted as closed - five and a half years ago....

Closed up.
Shame as it did look like an old skool corner boozer.
|
Now closed.
Bar area removed and is apparently to be turned into a post office. Seems unlikely to be a pub again.
|
Up for sale and trading with temporary manager.
Future uncertain given its close proximity of other pubs and Punch taverns inability to do anything other than screw its landlords.

London 'geezer' landlord runs the pub. Every fortnight live gigs. Large terrace was busy, pool room empty: it was a sunny day... Doombar 3.20.

I am interested to find out if there is a poster in the Dolphin Inn that describes in detail a wreck sale of part of the cargo of the ship Nereid which was wrecked off the coast of England on Dec. 17, 1797. A friend of mine who lives near me, in British Columbia, has the said poster and he thinks it is original. I am wondering if there are replicas out there printed in modern times and his is probably one of those and thus worth nothing.
I have not been to the Dolphin Inn but if I ever come to Penzance, I will stop by for a pint - of ginger ale. (sorry, me no drinkie.)
