Had a name change a few years ago to The Sheaf of Arrows and appeared to have a lot of renovation work judging by the amount of skips and rubble outside Sadly now it’s boarded up and doubtless for sale after another failed attempt to make the place work Probably will stay shut now or be taken over by another couple who are going to make it the finest pub in Dorset but are unsuccessful largely because despite it being on a very busy road it has to solely rely on passing trade due to the fact there are only about four houses within a mile radius of it

Well once again the Rest and Welcome has been taken over. Back in the day this was such a lovely and traditional pub. The new people seem to know how to run a pub, which is a start and have kept the atmosphere. Close to the road, but the garden is perfect for a sunny day, relaxing and friendly. Good choice of beers and food. We had a Sunday roast, the meat was superb. Unfortunately the vegetable portions were very small and the roast potatoes (3 pieces, equivalent to one potato) were minuscule, but tasted good. For a Sunday lunch time the music was rather loud but I will be back for good local tradition and atmosphere...

Anyway, if you have about 450,00 you could buy it, if you like it so much. Or 39,950 + 27.500 per annum for a ten year FOT lease.
Try it, if you really like it!

This pub has a sign up that says please rate us on beerintheevening.com. No other pub has this request up or has asked us to do so. x TFA

"We have visited the Rest and Welcome Inn again and its even better than the first time. It was packed. We have visited hundreds of Pubs all over the country and this is one of the best. 5 star."
I find it somewhat strange that you've visited hundreds of pubs all over the country, yet this is the only one you've reviewed (TWICE)! Talk about transparent!
You're not very good at this, are you?
I pass this place often, and I note that everyone else does the same. You must be very lonely in there with your family!

Rather suspicious. With which other pubs did you compare this?

A beautiful country pub, the service is unbeatable, the staff made us feel very welcome, the food was exellent and reasonably priced. I will recommend it to everyone. Cant wait to go back to try their Daily Specials.

I've only been here once recently, and on my recent visit the beer was off, the family who run it appear to have no idea what they're doing, the menu is pretentiously expensive (and if their cooking is as bad as their cellar skills, also a ripoff), and frankly they lack direction. Another case of "What shall we do now? Oh let's keep a pub." You don't keep a pub. The pub keeps YOU.
