This pub on the edge of town changed its name to the Teddy Rowe. But it is closed again now. There was a light on inside. But various rubble in the car park and a chain across the car park entrance was sufficient to indicate to us that it wouldn't be opening for custom on the day of our visit.

Wow, what a change! The new landlord and landlady (Vic and Lynn) have really bought this pub up to scratch. It now looks more like a traditional pub WITHOUT pink walls! The food is lovely, traditional and good value...home cooked!! I felt warmly welcomed and would definately go back, especially for the Sunday roast, as friends said it was brilliant, one of the best for miles. Thanks for bringing the pub back to life and see you again soon. :-)

ohh dear if you thought it was bad before then it is lots worse now to say the least, bitter has gone from 2.90 - 3.50,food is well to put it nicely dont go near the place,or if you do just look at the small blackboards held together with black masking tape is it to hide the uneven writeing, ohh but as the blackboards do say FREE CAR PARK ! ,if im paying 3.50 a pint i should think so ! ! ! and it's a pub what are this lot on !!!!!!!!!!!,needs seeing to belive it it is so bad, shame ;[

Im surprised this pub does as well as it does given the location but its looking decidedly tatty now and the beer is questionable.

Good pub with a warm welcome and usually a good range of ales. Well known for its good menu of home-cooked food albeit a tad expensive.
