Local recommended the Drovers Ale and it was the pint of the night.
It was also Pie Night. And so far, winner of the best pie on the Inn Way.
Superb pub - oozing history and class. Highly recommended.

Greatly enjoyed the Kings Arms Ale (bitter) as well as the Drovers Arms Ale (dark).
A friendly pub and an extensive rambling building.
Food soulded gret but we didn't.
Will return.

Called in after a walk. Did not eat but food provided for local football team after their Saturday afternoon match looked good. Black Sheep & Theakston Bitter are permanent and a house beer from Yorkshire Dales plus 2 other excellent special brews from Yorkshire Dales. An excellent 3.8% blonde and a 3.8% stout. All keg bitters have now been removed.

Genorous portions of food, for very litytle money.Great beer too...a great plce to refresh after a long hike

Traditional pub with an open log fire.
Yorkshire Dales Brewery (located in a barn just up the street) brews a special beer for the pub.
Beers tend to be Theakstons, Black sheep, Yorkshire dales brewery plus a guest beer.

Have been coming to Askrigg on and off over the last 20 years for a beery weekend thinly disguised as an end of season football tour against two of the local village teams. The claim to fame for the village of Askrigg is that it was used in the 70�s TV series of James Herriot 'All Creatures Great and Small'
And the Kings Arms is a former stables, which was converted into a public house in the early nineteenth century and featured as 'The Drovers Arms in the said TV series.
It has a cosy multi roomed interior but one of these is usually laid out as restaurant as it does focus on an upmarket food menu to capture the tourist trade in summer.
However usually has at least two beers on the go from the Theakstons and Black Sheep stables, and although does not have a garden there is a passageway between the pub and the building next door which allows outside drinking on barmy Yorkshire evenings. For reasons I will explain in my reviews for the other places in Askrigg, the Kings Head is usually referred to as the �bottom pub� by the locals.
