Served by a friendly landlord, the Donnington Gold was in good condition yesterday and provided needed refreshment on our circular walk from Blockley. Also on sale was Cotswold SBA. Pub was busy and there has clearly been recent investment here judging by the smartness of the lavatories.

Very pleasant village local. Friendly staff and good value lunches. The little fat Jack Russell is friendly as well.
Decent pint of Donnington beer.

Had intended to have lunch here as I passed through. But it seemed to be all shut up, deserted and closed (so went to the excellent Plough in Stretton-on-Fosse). Has this fallen prey to the pub recession? Pity if it has.

Great pub!
Good menu, lovely log fire, great hosts(Jon & Vince) - really lovely atmosphere and beautiful village.
A fantastic base (they do B/B) for walking and touring in the North Cotswolds.

This pub's nothing special but is run by a lovely man and is in a lovely setting. The BB was great but sadly the SBA was poor. It lacked the gloriously creamy texture and was overly tart. Possibly an old barrel. Generally though a nice village pub, perfect for a stop off place on a walk.

I'd heard that the landlady who ran this pub for so many years had retired from the pub recently, so I was very glad to see the pub open and thriving when I visited last month. The beer is just as good as the views from the beer garden at the front - smashing!

Dont let the we dont do food here sign put you off. If you just want a drink in a pub like it used be in a quiet Cotswold village, this is for you. The landlady has been here for forty years and I suspect the pub has changed little in that time. For real ale fans, just the Donningtons BB from their brewery just down the road. This is the bottom pub of the village the top pub on the A424 is another Coach & Horses, also Donningtons !
