I've been here a few times and have enjoyed it every time. I went here for Christmas dinner with some friends and the food was great, the staff were very helpful and the Mulled cider was delicious. It is a bit pricey, but not exactly extortionate when you compare it to other pubs in Bristol. I look forward to going here more often.

a lot better than i remember it,as previously said this is more of a "late bar" than a pub,the service was quick with a plentiful amount of staff for a Thursday and the ale albeit dull butcombe gold was spot on(bath gem/bath spa also available)8/10 ps lotsa candles

More of a late night bar than a pub, not one you would go to for a quiet beer. Has lefe on tap though!! Expensive though. Nice beer garden out the back, not one I would race back to, but would be ok for a big night, can't imagine their are many locals in there.

Popular pub situated in the middle of North Street, slightly away from the trendy end with all the rest of the bars. Recently refurbished and painted throughout in battleship grey, it sounds quite depressing but works well. It a wide open space with a central bar area, and a small raised section off to the left. A real fire, and plenty of candles around the place as well. The large candelabra with wax dribbled all over it in the fireplace was an interesting feature.
Theres a decent sized beer garden out the back, and a couple of BBQs. Good mix of clientele, with groups of guys stood at the bar, several couples dining and even a few people on their own reading the papers or surfing. This feels like a proper community pub.
Theres a fairly extensive menu tending slightly more towards the gastro pub side of things than your regular pub grub menu, although there was a decent selection of pies. Quite reasonably priced, although the portions could have been more generous.
Beers on tap were Bath Ales, Gem, Wickwar BOB and Butcombe Gold. Ciders were Addlestones and Thatchers Gold.

Another refurbished Bedminster / Southville boozer catering to the 'locals' who moved here after realising they couldn't afford to live in Clifton and therefore helped to inflate the house prices in the area by ooh about 6000% since 1993. Not dissimilar in character to the Hen and Chicken down the road. 3 ales including Butcombe Gold and Gem, and Gem in excellent nick. Less kids than were in other pubs, the place quite tastefully done out with a wood burner adding a pleasant touch. Also the garden looked nice but it was chucking it down so couldn't investigate further.

Very much a pub for the 20-40-something urban Yuppie that now seems to be taking over Bedminster.

A couple of beers on over Christmas, quality average though you do get a handled mug for your troubles if you order a half.

I found it all a bit This Life for me, but the upmarket Boho crowd will love it here which is fair enough, they could do worse.

Good range of beers, food tasty but alittle pricey for Bedminster.

Drinks are over priced, 9 for two pints and a bottle!!! boring inside as well.

A nice gastro pub in the newly 'gentrified' Bedminster/Southville area. Barmaid a bit sniffy and getting served at the weekend can be a trial though.
