Oh joy(!) the Pit has relocated to Hounslow...

All the best places go. :( Was a regular here at least twice a month

Currently boarded up so it looks like it's true.

It's still open and still runs a decent Rock Night on Saturdays. Mostly dead the rest of the time though.

It looks like last orders, sad to say ! According to last Friday's Richmond and Twickenham Times ( page 10 - Edition dated 5 November 2004) the pub is apparently to be knocked down and turned into 13 flats with an underground car park. This is because, it is reported, that the Local Planning Committee have approved an application. The small Thai restaurant to one side will apparently stay. It is not reported when the pub will close, if indeed it hasn't already. I didn't use the pub much, but it's still a great shame to see another local landmark about to disappear

That planning application for conversion has appeared again!

Nice pub.. Friendly bar staff. Saturday night definately busiest night of the week in there.. Rest of the week it's like a wake. Saturday nights: Music is okay. Very repetitive though, and same stuff played week after week. Nice firendly atmosphere though. Beer prices are higher than average but still okay. If you can't be arsed to go to Slimelight or a proper club on a weekend, this makes a pretty good little night out. rating: 6/10

Had great time with the Salsa classes on Thursday evenings. Wonderful dance floor - great instructor.

Nice expansive pub with cheap beer - gets my vote
Avoid the Mitre 5 minutes away as I had to run away from some Phil Mitchell types for not being a regular!

As frightening as it looks in the picture. I was intimidated into getting a Whiskey and Coke here after I got lost looking for amother pub and had to ask directions. Felt like I was in David Lynch movie. Of course this is not altogether a bad thing. Good for: I wouldn't like to say

Excellent music and young crowd on a Saturday night 9pm-2am (despite other comments). Offers a realistic alternative to all the run-of-the-mill cheesy pop trash you hear in ever other club or pub, and has a more down to earth friendly crowd who are there for the music, not to start fights or cause trouble. Not a baseball cap in sight! Plus the bar is cheap (double vodka+coke 2.50).

What's wrong with "grim"? It's main claim to fame these days are the rock and metal night on Saturday, and occasional Friday gigs, so of course it's dark! It's been deliberately boarded up for the purpose...
Oh, and the rock night? Great!

Had a great party there. Negative comments a load of bollox.
